I've seen teams get beat by more than 35 points combined in two meetings..

Not a big deal. It's not like many think the Nets are a playoff contender right now anyways, especially coming off an 11 win season (thereabouts).. I doubt even mb4 thinks so.

The Heat were/are also considered the best team in the NBA.

Sooooooo...best team in NBA > non playoff contender. Pretty obvious to me.
