I read they knew about the 4 game suspension before they traded for him. They're speculating that it's because of a poor work ethic and showing at Seahawk minicamps and OTAs.

Also, I believe there is something in the NFL rules system that doesn't allow you to cut a player solely on the basis of substance abuse and the suspensions that come with them. IIRC, Quincy Carter filed some legal actions against the Cowboys for that reason.

Appears to be lack of effort, bad attitude, a sense of entitlement and late to meetings you know stuff that even your old college ball coach won't put up with.

That is correct. The player has to stay on your roster until they come off suspension.
