Is he the most physically impressive QB? No.

Does he do just about everything right? Yeah.

He’s one of those guys I can envision going to NE or NO and having a successful career. He’s one of those dudes that isn’t spectacular, but it’s hard to find any flaws in his game. And with proper coaching he’ll get better.

If he’s there at our 2nd I’d take him in a millisecond.

I think a team in the 2nd Round will take him. I think after #35 unless a team trades up is where his sweet spot is. You will have Atlanta, Carolina, Denver and Detroit, SF and NE coming around after pick #35. I think that unless a team trades up for him late 1st Round or early 2nd Round this is where I think he will end up. I am not expert, but I think he would be a solid QB with Solid Starter a possibility. I think if you let him sit a year and develop he could be a capable QB by year 3...and maybe 2 year if he is put in the right system. I think he needs a good supporting cast and can basically be a Coach QB extension on the Field. NO would be a good place for him to end up, but not sure if Payton really likes his Back Ups. I think he is a solid QB and with a team that has the weapons and a solid coach he could develop into something.

With a game like this, all we can hope is he moves up the boards and makes the top 10 a five QB pick slate. If Lawrence, Fields, Wilson, Lance, and Jones all go top 10 we could get a trade back and still a Farley/Surtain.

Best case scenario IMO

I've had Mac Jones the 2nd QB taken in draft behind Trevor Lawrence for about 2 months now. His numbers are better than last years Heisman Winner Joe Burrow.

Mac Jones has been ice water all season with the ball placement in tight windows and the deep ball. Mac has also benefitted with having the best offensive line in college football this year. Not alot of film because of Jalen and Tua, but the can say that he's answer the bell every time his number was called.

#2 Rated QB behind Lawrence

He's probably the 5th QB off the board - just doesn't have tools.

Like OP said, he could be successful in specific systems that prioritize getting the ball out quick and scheme guys open, but those opportunities are pretty limited.

Jones might break the mold of Alabama QB's who actually has success in the NFL. I wouldn't take him in the first because a lot of his success like Tua's is based on Sarks offense, and the talent around him, but maybe he has more than what we are giving him credit for.
This wouldn't be a QB I would be comfortable with drafting day 1 if I was a GM.

I can see everyone passing on him early and then NE taking him and going on to win another 4 rings.

QBs with top-shelf physical tools just have been carrying over so, so well to the present day NFL that I hate to bet on guys that don't have them.

Marcus Mosher said awhile back that Joe Burrow is probably his floor for QB athleticism, and I'd agree with that. Burrow has average size and an average arm, but couples it with all-state point guard feet that he uses regularly to get out of trouble, and his field awareness and anticipation are on a Peyton Manning-esque level.

Mac Jones isn't half as mobile as Burrow, and it definitely doesn't take Peyton Manning to hit some of the open receivers that he has.

Hell, he isn't half as mobile as Tua, who played in the same Bama offense with most of the same teammates and struggled after jumping to the pros.

He's my top target at 10. No chance of it happening though. This front office likes no talent at the position.
