The refs screwed up but the cowboys defendes 70 as eligible and 68 scored, so they had to fix it. It's not like the play worked, so I don't see how the lions got robbedNot to mention they got the 2 point play completely correct. Detroit attempted to cheat the rules and the refs didn’t fall for it. Plain and simple.
For my Cowboys-hating friends' social media posts this morning, it's been nice to have his response ready to post in reply...
The refs did not screw up. Detroit purposely made who was eligible confusing in an attempt to cheat the rule hoping the refs wouldn’t throw a flag due to the confusion. The refs had none of it. They reported 70 as eligible because he was the last play to indicate to the ref, which was part of the plan. The refs got it completely right and refused to play into Detroits purposeful deception. The refs screwed up but the cowboys defendes 70 as eligible and 68 scored, so they had to fix it. On the tripping call, perhaps having both teams wear different colored pants may have helped get the call right. It can be hard to tell who was tripping when guys are engaged in blocking and 2/3 of each team’s uniforms are the same color.Way too much boo-hooing for the Lions by talking head cry babies. Helman is right on this one. The Lions had THREE (3) chances total because of the Parsons offsides to make that 2 pt conversion. Everyone conveniently forgets that.
The tripping foul up is just more reason the league Refs need an overhaul in general.
Make penalties called reviewable when obviously wrong or have two penalty reviews allowed per team in addition to challenges. Some penalties obviously need to be reviewed or overturned somehow. On the tripping call, perhaps having both teams wear different colored pants may have helped get the call right. If the ref was not at fault why the NFL demoted him.
was it for the 2pt conversion? or was it for all the other missed calls like the phantom tripping penalty....?If the ref was not at fault why the NFL demoted him.
Probably because those screaming loudly need to be pacified some how in the current way of life... which sucks. If the ref was not at fault why the NFL demoted him.
I think this crew had a very bad non PI call early in the year, plus now they are the focus of controversy, maybe the league want to avoid any more fuzz.was it for the 2pt conversion? or was it for all the other missed calls like the phantom tripping penalty....?
They blew a blantant PI that cost a team the win last week, the horrendous mistake on the tripping call, and I do believe there was initial belief that they blew the 2 pt call but that has since been debunked as Detroits cheating scheme has been exposed. If the ref was not at fault why the NFL demoted him.
To make all the whiners happy. And to see Dallas' own fans, or some of them a reason to hate on their own team. It is a conspiracy with our own fans, well some of them.If the ref was not at fault why the NFL demoted him.
Any replay would have easily corrected the issue. On the tripping call, perhaps having both teams wear different colored pants may have helped get the call right. It can be hard to tell who was tripping when guys are engaged in blocking and 2/3 of each team’s uniforms are the same color.
ESPN only chooses to see the angles it wants to, and I"m sure Schefeter was scolded by producing facts about the miss call on Hendershot. Even this morning they refused to touch on it's importance with how the rest of the game played outAll spot on. Why doesn’t ESPN cover all of these angles? Hmmm. That’s a real beard scratcher
Please explain.Helman is one of the biggest idiots on twitter- which has nothing to do w anything in this video
