Judge rules actress violated probation; star also faces misdemeanor charge

By ANTHONY McCARTNEY

LOS ANGELES — Several bailiffs led Lindsay Lohan from a Los Angeles courtroom on Friday after a judge who heard evidence against the actress in a theft case sentenced her to 120 days in jail for a probation violation.

The actress, who often conferred with her attorney throughout a preliminary hearing, showed little reaction as Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner gave her ruling.

Lohan's attorney, Shawn Holley, said she will appeal, allowing the Lohan, 24, to post bail, which was set at $75,000.

This is probably her last chance to shape up. She has already been given so many passes it is ridiculous. Now the judges are being laughed at and that will be the last straw. Judges hate being ridiculed- it offends their dignity and ego. Nothing worse for them. So after this she would be looking at a year or more in jail.

Lohan quickly released from jail in theft case (AP)
Source: AP 3 hours, 52 minutes ago

LOS ANGELES - The day unfolded all too familiarly for Lindsay Lohan: a court hearing, a jail sentence, a quick release.

The starlet appeared before a judge Friday for the fourth time in nearly a year and was sentenced to 120 days for violating her probation by taking a designer necklace.

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Stephanie Sautner said she thought the actress had intentionally taken the $2,500 necklace from an upscale Venice store and shown poor judgment in not trying to return it until police became involved.

The judge reduced the actress' charge from felony grand theft to a misdemeanor and imposed the 120-day sentence.

Lohan's attorney Shawn Holley filed a notice of appeal right before court closed, clearing the way for the actress' release on bail.

She was freed at 9:21 p.m. after posting $75,000 bail, according to the sheriff department's website.

Just once I 'd like to see one of these pampered celebs serve their full sentence, not a fraction of it.

I agree.

It's ridiculous at all the chances she has been given.

Probably be high as a kite the whole time and won't have to suffer through it.

Should be consecutive. If she lives, she gets to go free. If not, justice will have been served.

She still has 120 days of jail on the books. That is just the community service she was ALSO served along w/ her jail time she was sentenced to. Remember this all started out as a felony offense which was dropped to a misdemeanor.

The attorney is appealing the sentence atm thus why Lindsey was able to bail out. BTW you can bank on her doing the jailtime. That will stand. All I see happening is the attorney only delaying the inevitable for her client.

The DA and the judge both are disgusted atm and I don't see any deal makings in the works, that I have read about.

She's going to the pokey for 45+ for sure.
