Yeah, LVE appears to be in the Sean Lee mold, which is you get a full season out of him every 3 years or so. Jaylon Smith is not a good linebacker and does not like straight forward contact. He will do anything to avoid it and is always tackling from the side or from behind. If you look at the play where Diggs tackled the guy late in the game to get the Rams to punt. Jaylon was 5 yards behind Diggs just running to the sideline. Giving him a contract extension after 1 solid year seems to be a mistake. I am hopeful Bernard likes to meet a running back in the hole and actually tackle him. I do not see LVE making it into next year with a pretty serious neck issue and now a busted collarbone, so we will need to draft a few linebackers next year.

Rewatch him cover Higbee on the slant play. It’s like Smith has cement / clown shoes on trying to run. Terrible

Draft priorities shaping up as LB, DT, S, TE and OL. Jerry will go TE first as it is shiny and will prop up Dak and Kellen.

I'm never listening to a reporter's analysis of practice/camp ever again. We heard over and over how Smith was looking better than ever and was covering RBs/TEs all over the field in camp.

I did not watch Jaylon specifically but seen the comments during the games. But later in the game, he just looked slow, I mean bad slow.
And I will not use the reason that he, as the entire defense was gassed. Maybe the lack of off-season work and no PS had something to do with it, but not using that excuse either. Simple running if in shape for a highly trained (supposedly) athlete should be able to run faster.

Very disappointed.

Can we stop drafting players who have had serious injuries? I mean it's one thing to draft a guy like Travis Fredricks and have the diagnosis he had - chalk that up to terrible luck. But guys like Jaylon and LVE are people who are never going to be good as what they were prior to their serious injuries. Not even sure why they extended Jaylon.

Next year We need to draft and/or acquire some really good LBs.
actually we better find a VET LB to start TODAY.. go grab one with some tread on their tires.. its desperation LEE may come back wont be right LVE likely done and Smith is ok but man no one on our roster can fill this hole..

The media that covers the Cowboys are some of the most sycophantic losers in the history of sports journalism. They have no skills other than repeating the same propaganda the coaches throw out.
