Liufau will be good in his own right, but there is only one Overshown. A shame that Overshown is now lost. Possibly for good.

Liufau is pretty much the exact opposite of what Overshown brings. He might be a better run defender right up the gut, but all other aspects of the position will get downgraded, and I bet this causes a significant change in how the Cowboys play defense the next few weeks. Clarke actually seems like a more natural fit to play the Overshown role

He’s probably not gonna be as good but if he can be a solid player that is great for next year

Clark? Damone? He's a backup and a bust. One of the worst to ever wear the star, IMO. The worst run defender in the league

I'm willing to wait to see how Liufau handles himself in taking over for Overshown. It just takes time to prove oneself in such a change. So many of us aren't willing to give players the full advantage of proving their wares. I hope most of us allow him the time to adjust to the task. Let's be patient. He's already displayed the talent to produce well. Given a chance, I do believe he'll succeed. Instant gratification is not a realistic expectation.

I say it matters because it may change some of the play designs and assignments of the font 4. The cowboys used Overshowns quickness to let the DEs be more aggressive playing inside runs and had overshown take contain. Not having him on the field is a ripple effect for the rest of the defense in many ways.

Bad player or not the cowboys only have so many LBs on the roster. Either Clark or Buddy Johnson are going to see snaps this week. Have to assume vigil is the last option.
