Longer term, this actually sets up pretty well.

In the coming weeks, this team is either:

a) Going to finally put it together and head into the playoffs strong (they are certainly not going to be able to skate in).

b) Going to be getting rid of this administration, and deservedly so.

Either path looks like a good one.

Garrett will be the next head coach and that p.o.s. Jerry will still be running this "team"

Can't agree with that logic.

But, JC is HC, you can expect more of the same from the Dallas Cowboys.

Clean house time. Jerry give GM duties to Stephen Jones or a football GM.

If garrett is the HC i may not watch a cowboy game until he's fired his playing calling is idiotic to the say the least.

you assume A. leads to B. which will be an improvement. You overlooked jerry's most likely choice (especially given likely strike/stoppage and paying a pricey coach to do nothing).

C. team fails, "administration" handed to jason garrett and team fails further while team ages

Where's your positive attitude?

D. Wade wins Superbowl.

E. Wade doesn't win Superbowl, Jerry reflects upon personal errors, hires Shanahan or Dungy and gives complete control to the new coach. Gives up GM position and hires reputable football man with long track record of success. Fades into the background while pulling all remnants of the Jones family from prominent positions in football operations.

sorry. couldn't keep a straight face. :p:

.....this will be the only way we will really see what the team and coaching staff is all about, I am glad we face a hard road ahead, if we succeed no team will want to face us in the playoffs

If the Cowboys make it, it will be well deserved but either way it is out of our hands.
That's why I try to keep an even keel and not flip out like an idiot when they stumble or make Superbowl here we come!!1 threads when they win. In the end, nobody knows what will happen. The raiders took out the stealers, egals, and ravens. Commanders almost beat the juggernaut saints team. Anything can happen.

With the players we have now, super bowl would be guaranteed.

Everyone certainly hopes for Option A but it's looking more like a repeat of past failures.

Option B would only work if the team tanks to the point where Jerry Jones has a revelation and realizes the error of his controlling ways. If he does that, he can hire one of the better coaches and get a talented team pointed in the right direction. If he doesn't, he won't and we'll get more of the same - probably worse.

Well we'd sure have a fighting chance without the 50 ton Jones family anchor hanging around our ankles. (and I don't mean ankles but this is a family forum  )

Agreed.

This Sunday is a must-win game. The rest of the season does not matter if Dallas loses at home Sunday after a tough loss on the road to a division opponent. The mental makeup of this team is tettering on the edge of collapse. Only a win will remedy the situation.

If they lose, it's time to start thinking about changes for the future.

I choose a.)

Roy is getting locked in. Romo to Roy on that one pass across the middle was a GREAT, GREAT throw and catch. The kind of hookup that transcends these two.

Guys, if the path is b), then Jerry is not going to Garrett. He's going to want a big name to go with his big stadium.

Since you guys are into fairy tales, thought I would give mine.

Jerry finally admits that he is actually the head coach, that he tells Wade who to play on defense, ala Barbie Carpenter and he is the one telling JG to stick with MB3 when everyone and their brother knows Felix and Choice need to have more defined roles. Since its my fairy tale, he will fire himself and hire a real GM and let him pick his coach and staff. And we all live happily ever after.

The more likely scenario is JG will become HC, the team will continue to play inconsistent, uninspired football until every last ounce of sweat that BP put into this team is obliterated. Jerry will eventually turn into Al Davis Jr until Stephan Jones is able to pry the team from his cold dead hands.
