Longtime Philly writer Bill Conlin accused of molestation/retires....

My apologies if this belongs in the off topic forum. I don't know. The guy's been a legendary sport reporter around here for 40 years. Wasn't sure where it fits.
 
Used to watch him on "The Sports Reporters" every Sunday morning when Dick Schaap was still alive. I knew he was a curmudgeon, but the perv part is shocking.
 
Conlin is pretty much an icon in Philly. Surprised at this revelation though.
 
Will the outing of these perverts ever stop ? Every week it's another one .

We are only hearing about prominent people, ... just think of all the creepy neighbors, weird Uncle Herb's, scum gym teachers, coaches, priests, etc. that we don't know about that are doing the same thing.
 
Maybe the keystone state needs an enema to clean out the crap.

It's amazing how many people knew what was going on, including parents, and yet nothing was done.
 
I actually question if this is true, or just a scam.

Who all of a sudden decides, 40 years later, that "Oh yea, now i remember, we were going to do something about that guy who molested us all those times."

Different time. In today's world with some much media attention to everything and at our fingertips and in our face 24 hours a day people are much more aware of things like this, that what happened to them isn't just an isolated incident, and that it is okay to report it to the police. 40 years ago it was thought of as a scar on the entire family that was much more likely to be buried in the closet for fear of having the family being labled by society.

This was my first thought, but after reading the whole story it seems pretty likely that it is real.

Could have something here.. i have my doubts, but i wouldn't be shocked if it were true.
