see i told some of you zoners about justin smiley, that when parcells is wiling to trade a player, you dont want him, either he is damaged goods, or the player stinks/or injured badly

you just dont want to trade with parcells, he will get you either way coming or going;

Justin Smiley-G- Dolphins May. 1 - 2:16 pm et

The Dolphins are reportedly convinced that OG Justin Smiley's surgically repaired shoulder is shot.

Two sources tell the Miami Herald that Smiley has lost his strength in the shoulder since signing with the Dolphins two years ago, and he is no longer able to lift his right arm over his head. Smiley's ability to "punch" at the line has been adversely affected. Knowing this, the Dolphins can't expected to get much for Smiley via trade. He may end up being released.

You and I are the same when it comes to him. One of the happiest days outside of winning games for my Cowboys memories was the day the ticker on ESPN said Billy had retired. I smiled so big you could see my vertebrae on both sides of my cheeks.

That's why they have physicals before trades to avoid this scenario.

And why you shouldn't buy a new car without test driving it and having an independent mechanic look at it.

This really isn't very surprising and honestly Bill is probably not the only person out there who attempts to move players like this if he can.

Coming from a guy with Billy in his signature, you couldn't pay me a bigger compliment.

I constantly have to remind myself of his stellar 2 games over .500 record along with 0-2 in the playoffs. You knew the guy was washed up when Tony gets outperformed by Rex Grossman against the same weak *** Seattle secondary.

WE still use some of the lessons he thought the Front office and he put us on the right path.

And Wade had to rebuild the defense from the archaic 3-4 version that Parcells implemented. Great job by Billy drafting offensive lineman, addressing the secondary, etc.

No use really arguing the points. I've done it 100 times on DallasCowboys.com and it basically comes down to whichever camp you are in. You either suckle at Manboob's chest, or you think he was pretty damn over rated.

Well that's a disturbing thought and I don't want to know how you came up with it at all! I would like to think of myself in another camp that feels he helped out some and moved on. No plans to suckle though.

I'm probably migrating to that point a little.

Annoys the crap out of me when people say, well what about the three 5-11 seasons??? Yeah, how about them? Campo's first season, 1/3 of our cap space was dead money. His second season as head coach was Year 1 of rebuilding EVERYTHING. Year 3 was the second rebuild season.

As far as the front office drafting goes, you can say so much thanks to Billy or blow him off for the plethora of busts we walked through or Jerry had to over ride him on. You can look at the earlier drafts through to today 1998-current or so, and see a natural learning curve by Jerry and Stephen.

Those first years sucked for drafting. The middle parts got better in the 2002-2006 range, and now that Parcells is long gone in Miami, the drafts have been in my mind very good. Folks want to give that to Parcells, but it appears that Jerry was just learning along a natural curve. Parcells just hopped in during the middle of it.

salt, you are truly blind if you did not see the huge difference between the organization during campo and during BP. Just forcing Lacewell out of the draft process was a huge deal. But go on with your BP hate, it is somewhat amusing.

I really see the huge difference between Wade and Billy. Remind me again how many playoff games Bill won once Belichick wasn't his defensive coordinator? Remind me again under who's tutelage Belichick learned to steal defensive signals since Phil Simms admitted knowing every single defensive play call against San Diego on the air a few years ago?
