He isnt returning week 8...or week 9...or week 10

Unless you're talking about the bench.

Doctors said 6-10 weeks. At 5-1 with a QB playing well, why would you push it now?

If they were 3-3 or worse, Romo would be suiting up against the Eagles.

With results like last year he probably would have suited up against GB. And it likely would have been ugly.

If Dak beats Philly-- then the transition at QB will be complete this year. What more would JJ and the coaches need to see? They would be the front runners to win the NFCE and have a legit shot at home field advantage in the playoffs.

At that point-- you have to give Dak the reins and chalk the decision up to protecting Romo's health, and preserving momentum and team chemistry. Then you either trade Romo in the offseason or you open up a QB competition and give Tony the chance to win the job back fair and square.

Yes. He had no business coming back when he did last year.
The pressure was enormous because the team was losing every single game without him. Desperation

Far from that this year.

Especially with the division as competitive as it is this year. If we'd won only 3 of our last 5 games, we'd be in last place in the division right now.

if romo is not going to play until week nine why did the front office put him on ir to return then. we could have picked up a extra lineman or corner to help the team.

Anyone they picked up would have been at the bottom of the 53 and in active on game days. Would not have mattered in the least.

Bringing him back vs Cleveland is preferable to me vs Philly. Browns are like a warm up.

I'm still on the Romo wagon, but there are a lot more seats these days. Pushing Romo out of the organization early means Dak isn't learning from Romo and there's a ton he can learn. We all know what happened to Anakin Skywalker when the jedi council pushed him up from apprentice before he was ready. Did not turn out well! :D

Because if the team started out 1 - 3 or 1 - 4 you can bet Romo would have been out there whether he was 100% or not. They were relying on a guy who wasn't supposed to take a meaningful snap this year, and he was being backed up by Sanchez. They wanted to keep their options open rather than find a roster churn type of player to fill the spot.
