Ok. So I am looking to go to Atlantic City this weekend.

I read alot of reviews and its either:

- Hotel is not updated
- The "Crowd" is young, drunk and/or rowdy crowd
- Alot of the rooms smell like smoke
- the "supposedly better" room isnt much better if all better than the standard room
- the sheets are low thread count and scratchy

Darn. Just looking for a good hotel that has a nice atmosphere for a nice setting and good eats?

Anyone one got anything better than what I have been reading? or does that sum it up?

Thanks in advance

What hotel are you staying at?

borgata

definitely not nearly as bad as those reviews make it out to be...youll enjoy it

go

I personally wouldn't waste one minute in Atlantic City even if I were a gambler. Why not just go to Wildwood or Cape May?

Where are these two places? Never heard of them

Been there but not since that storm devastated the area. Had a good time there.

Spent the night in New Jersey then headed to Philly for the Eagles Cowboys game. Not sure what will be open or not but you should have a great time. The boardwalk and ocean view is awesome.

They are further south of Atlantic City. I went to Wildwood when I was young. nice beach and was a boardwalk with rides at that time.

Borgata and Harrah's are my favorites

Although Borgata is fancier, I pick Harrah's most of the time.

You will enjoy at both places. You can't go wrong.

Borgotta, great all around. I don't see why you would go in the winter and sacrifice the beaches, but the Borgotta is definitely the way to go.

i go to atlantic city all the time and stay at the golden nugget. it's not as big as some other places but they recently updated all the rooms and they are very nice.

The area isn't devastated. The boardwalk by the casinos was virtually untouched.

The Borg it is! ;-)

I hate NY / NJ beaches. When I want Beach I go to the caribbean.

You won't be disappointed by the Borgata. It is my hotel/casino of choice. Plenty of room on the gambling floor, Giant poker room with nonstop action. Nice sit down dining at Wolfgangs or buffet or even on the go downstairs in the cafeteria.Rooms are very nice/clean. If you got a couple extra bucks stay in the water club rooms are much nicer and on a week night this time of the year they dont cost much more. Also its not on the boardwalk so you can look at it as a pro/con. This time of the year its definitely a pro imo... To keep it family friendly I'll just say there is lots of interesting characters usually wandering the boards that make there way into the casinos. I'll leave you with one last reason to visit the Borgata my cousin is a dealer there (thats not the reason) A couple of summers ago he sends me a text saying he dealt blackjack to Austin Miles... No lie he called him Austin Miles...(My cousin isn't a big sports person had no idea who he was but a fellow dealer pointed out to him after he left the table that it was Miles!) So you just never know who you may run into!:starspin

Yeah

I go to AC once a month at least and I always have free room at Harrah's except Starudays in the summer and I have never ever hit the beaches. AC is for gambling, fine dining and partying imo.

We'll, when I seen the rollercoaster floating in the water it had me worried.

They suffered damage, like a lot of places. I'm not saying the area was untouched, but the reason you saw that and not poker tables floating into the ocean is because that was the most dramatic damage scene they could find and it's on the outer-most point.
