One of the biggest problems this Team/Organization has had is thinking they are better than they really are. Even though they've gone 12-5 the past few years, it's obvious that it was fools gold or a mirage.
This team has had many flaws but making it to the playoffs made the management and team think they were one of the top teams. The illusion was propped up by the team stacking wins/statistics against average to bad teams. Beating those teams while losing consistently to legit good teams, although they put icing on the pile of crap by accumulating garbage time Scores and statistics to make the blowouts seem less painful, helped foster that denial.
Now with the reality setting in that they are a bad team/organization, it will result in stomping on the Rose Colored Glasses they have been wearing for years.
It will hopefully change the attitude and focus of the Team from top to bottom.

I couldn't agree more. I think what has helped the Cowboys for the last few years was that their division was so bad outside the Eagles, would get an easy 5 wins.

I had this conversation yesterday with someone. They said what happens if we go 6-0 with Rush. I told him it would be the worst mistake ever. They need to have a offseason of a 3 win team not a 12 win one.

I want the team to experience a nuclear dumpster fire, but mostly so I can see the embarrassment it generates for our abhorrent GM/owner.

No matter what happens, I know it likely won’t mean anything meaningful towards changing the direction of how the franchise is organized and ran. The problem is Jerry and his meddling incompetence. I’m fully immersed in apathy until Jerry is gone. The apathy will continue if Stephen Jones swallows up the GM role when daddy is gone.

Is this like the "it's better to lose now, so you don't get overconfident before the playoffs" trope that gets dragged out during our annual post-Thanksgiving swoon?

Well, I guess we don't have to worry about that his year.....

Agreed, Jerry doesn't do things unless he wants to or is forced to. I think the team going "nuclear dumpster fire" may motivate him to make changes that he otherwise wouldn't, due to money or other factors.

Well, according to our supreme leader at QB, "This team f*** sucks.". If this was to be the mindset of this team, it would have been so after the GB massacre. The fact that this has gone in since tells me that they don't care and expect what has been happening
