I just perused the power rankings and a bunch of 2-2 teams are in front of us including cinncy.

Great seeing this team winning and still staying under the radar....with the defense they have they can compete with anyone....

Keep the underdog mentality going and keep the team gelling....this is starting to look like it could be a really fun season.

Enjoy it while you can. If this team beats the Rams and Philly and takes over the lead in the division and assumes the top spot in the conference the hype train is going to run over all of us..

Not so sure it will this time. I think many fans and media are in a wait and see mode. Though all the media really likes the defense.

The entire off-season, and so far this season. There seems to be a disdain against the Cowboys. Many are on this forum. I guess that is not unusual, until they actually accomplish something in the post season.
But the media seems to be just disregarding Dallas.
Maybe rightfully so, and you know if we lose those 2 games, they will be breaking arms patting their own backs also.

Still early, I take nothing away from what happens the next to games. Well, depends on how good or bad, or indifferent they look and play.
I pay no attention to rankings.

I’ll stand in front. Let that train hit me. Please.

The psyche of this team has worried me since Parcells left town.. I have never trusted that the Cowboys could handle being "the Cowboys" when the mediots start slobbering all over them. ESPN and FOX moving their headquarters to Dallas and every player on the team being called in to sit down with some member of the national media has been the death knell of this team for 20 years. The problem? They're all too nice.. There has never been enough downright *******s on the team to keep them focused when the media starts singing their praises. The 90's teams had a dozen such guys.. starting with the quarterback. For all his leadership qualities the one thing missing from Dak is his willingness to tear his receiver a new one for a drop or a bad route. Or to get in the face of the line when they aint blockin nobody. Troy was always willing to do that.. Romo never was.. and neither has any QB since Troy .. The 90's defense had Haley, Norton, Woody.. and to be honest they always played with a chip on their shoulders because the media always focused on the offense and the defense was an afterthought despite being #1 in the league a few times.

If this team is ever going to get over the hump, Dak is going to have to lose some of that nice guy persona and be more of a richard when his teammates are playing like crap. This team needs an assassin on both sides of the ball.. and I don't know who that is right now.. Micah might become one.. but I think he's still figuring it out.. Donovan Wilson plays that way but hasn't been able to stay healthy enough to assume any sort of leadership position. Lawrence has the ability and the attitude but I think that backwoods South Carolina drawl makes him sound like a big dumb country boy who is trying too hard to sound intelligent..

The media right now is really focused on trying to create a QB controversy and not propping up the team. If and when the offense really starts clicking then the hype will really increase.

Nor do I.. in fact I don't even look at them.. This aint college football.. you get into the playoffs by winning games not by vote.. If we do lose these next two games but compete that will be encouraging because the schedule loosens up quite a bit after that. I said before the season that I would rather the Cowboys lose those first two games than win both because of the hype factor.. I predicted a split and that's what we got.. and I had us beating both the Giants and the Ratscums.. This trip to L.A. was going to be tough no matter who was the QB with the line struggling but frankly the Rams have not shown me much to be feared. If we commit to the run they can be had.. Our line is at least as good as the 49ers without Trent Williams.. assuming we quit the musical chairs at LG nonsense. Pick a guy and let him play.. If he struggles, bench him and go to the next guy. This rotation nonsense is causing communication problems and that cannot continue.

so? i think it was 100% fair for anyone that was furious after that TB game to feel like things were lost and that we were going to have a terrible season...I don't think anyone could have forseen that things would improve the way they had.

People need a spot to vent and this is the perfect forum for many; and if that means saying they are pissed and dont care after game one and then they get more excited after a turnaround that noone could have forseen and get more into the season - then fine.

this place is part forum part therapy

I’m with you. It scares me too to be a favorite. At some point though I’d like to experience it again.

And you’re 100% right about Dak and him needing to be a hardass type of leader. The team needs it.

The team is in good shape. Just need to come out of the next 4 with a 5-3 record. 2 tough road games followed by 2 not so tough home game.

LOL, yeah, everyone and their grandma is gonna be asking, "Are the Cowboys now SB favorites?".... not good at all. The bandwagon will need extra supports.

If they can win against the Rams they are legit. For real. A contender. End of story.

If they lose, no matter who's under center, it'll be just one more irrelevant year. Beating up the little guys but collapsing like a folding chair when it truly matters.

The Dallas Cowboys haven't been under the radar since 1992, and that's exactly how Jerry wants it.

With Jerry out in front of the media constantly it's hard for us to be under the radar.
But yep, expectations are not high.

..I concur with this. This organization cant seem to handle lots of success, without interfering with the job itself.
