Loyalty. Staff and players. I’m wondering what head coach with any self-respect, would put their reputation on the line. Without having total control. Choosing your players, choosing your scheme, choosing your draft picks, your staff, if I’m a coach going to a team that’s new I can start from the beginning and work my way up. If I’m taking over team that’s already in place do I pull a John Gruden like he’s doing in Oakland. How do I try to live with what I have. Until the Joneses decide . To let a head coach run the team the way he wants his own winning formula. Nothings going to change. It’s not gonna matter who is the coach. If you don’t like your running back-Forced . to use him you’re not going to be happy. Just one example. Go Cowboys frustrated

Jason Garrett

he has no self respect

That post has way too many periods.
Only because you’re new. I have neuropathy in my hands from the military. I rely on speaking text. I have over 100,000 posts on the old website and this one. People cut me slack. Get over the periods

Well, if they can convince a GM and Coach to go to the Browns, there shouldn't be an issue getting one convinced to go to Dallas
Yes but one what . Another puppy I work with what you give me.

Coaches have big ego’s and the Cowboys job is the biggest ego job in all of sports.

That is how.

If they can get Parcells they can get anyone.

The problem is the Jones’s want a guy that can bully when need be.

Parcells thought he had control. When he didn’t he realized it and left

Very few HC actually pick the players though they have some input
Very few HC would be good at picking the players since they really don’t have time to scout hundreds of prospects

Neuropathy is some really painful stuff. Nothing really helps it much, just eases a little.

I agree, but they know what position of needing looking for. I’m not sure Jerry even allows that

Agree, but my point is that if a Coach is willing to go to Cleveland where the average life span is 2 years and a damaged resume, Dallas can surely get Head Coaches to come here. At least in Dallas a coach gets 3-4 years (approx) to implement his plan and see it through before getting the axe

Some get 10 years to implement the process.

yeah despite all of the negatives and despite what any one says this is still “the” job in the nfl. i do think it takes a certain type to actually want the circus and scrutiny that comes with it...but the allure of the glory and attention that success would have is a big draw for almost every coach in football.

I think jerry listens much more than people think
He has his ideas but much of the time that’s not the way they go
Now whether or not he listens to the right people may be a question
We’ve drafted two recent Dline players who obviously had issues before we drafted them
You can teach players to be better players but you can’t make them want it

The head coach that would do that is one that needs an opportunity - so one that may not otherwise have enough of a resume to get an NFL coaching gig.
