Mo Isom isn't content to just wrap up a stellar LSU soccer career and move on. Now, she wants to perform on the football field.

The goalkeeper, who has exhausted her soccer eligibility, is attempting to make the Tigers football team as a walk-on, according to multiple reports.

Isom, who is 6-feet tall, worked out with the football team in September, practicing kickoffs and field goals.

"(I'm) absolutely overwhelmed and humbled by all of the amazing support that has been pouring in surrounding tryouts," Isom said on her Facebook page. "There is so much power in prayer, so please know that I truly appreciate every single one of you! Today is the first of a 3-day tryout, so I would appreciate continued prayer through this week

Wish her well and all but I just don't see how a program like LSU couldn't find a kicker who has a better leg, not a liability on KO coverage and kicks with the same degree of accuracy, in other words a guy, but good luck to her.

I agree. I will say if she can go out and earn it then she deserves it.

Great post HB. It's hard to speak logically on this without sounding like a hater. If she can do it, more power to her. But you make perfect sense. I think a major program like LSU has a few more options than say a Bowling Green or a Richmond, where this might play out a little more feasibly.

Then again if she can go out and hit long range FG at a high rate then she is worth it. In the end it comes down can you do the job?

After seeing her picture I'm sure some return men would love her to tackle them. :laugh2:

I don't know. I have seen a lot of crappy kickers in the college ranks. Alabama lost to LSU because of poor kickers. I agree that LSU has more options than Bowling Green or Richmond, but that doesn't mean they have only good options. Since 2004 LSU has made 145 field goals on 191 attempts for 75.9%. That isn't anything special.

Especially so with kicking. I'm not against it at all. I'd like to see her get it done. If she's good enough then more power to her.

No doubt.

As for her being some sort of liabilty on STs. It sounds like she's bigger (and probably faster) than most kickers anyway.

She was also the home coming queen at LSU as well. Again she can tackle me any time she wants. :D

Anyone read that story?

Broke her neck in a car accident?

I think Jerry should sign her immediately to kick for Dallas.

Well, to do whatever it is Buehler does. At least then we'd have something worth looking at standing on the sideline.

It would be REALLY hard to play on a team where every single one of your teammates wants to bang you.
