Say it with me, Cowboys fans!

LVE had a great game versus the Lions.

He made a couple key stops that changed the game, and used his athleticism to do it. That's what good players do.

Anyone else think Vander Esch is playing well right now?

LVE was playing better at the end of last season. And he is doing well this season.
I think it took him a while to trust his health as to his neck issues.

Playing more instinctive now. But still not back to his rookie year obviously. I think that is what people expect and the bar they unfairly hold him to.

I don't know about "great", but he did have a good game, and a very good play, chasing the RB to the sideline while engaged with a blocker, making a shirt grab tackle.

I saw another key play on 3rd down, which was a great play to force a punt during a critical point in the game. It was all LVE on that play.

Say it with me, next Monday there will be a post on how bad he played

Right. There's always one, but still the Cowboys are a top defense. And you couldn't be if he was playing as badly as some say.

Apparently, I forgot to record this game so I can't go back and watch it. But I thought he had a really good game.

Come on now....he is just keeping the seat warm for when Clark starts getting some PT. Still not worth a contract extension. They will have cheaper labor, and better labor next year. His rookie year was his best year. Ok player not worth the money he would command next season, maybe Butthead can offer him some premium Whataburger coupons.

The one where he got about 3 yards into the backfield?

Yep, it was for a loss, I think.

EDIT: apparently, didn't get counted for a loss.

But here are his stats.

Statistically, I'd say he had a great game.

Worry more about Barr. He seems to be loafing around out there.

LVE is better than Barr.

Here are the stats to prove it.

LVE gave up some yards, because he didn't take any unnecessary gambles, and allowed his team to stay in it. But he made the stops where he had to.

Wasn't pretty. But I'd still say a great game for him.

I'd like to point out. No TDs this game. Somewhat luckily. But I'd attribute that to LVE's level of awareness about where he is in each game. That goes unnoticed by most about him.

Also keep in mind. This offense can be potent.

When your defense holds a top scoring offense to 6 points, a LB logging
10 tackles should get at least an 'attaboy.

The points matter. That's what measures the value of the tackles.
8-10 tackles while giving up 30 doesn't have the same value. (Just my 2 cents)

Yet we gave up 6. It was a good game, by LVE.

Agreed.
