Don't put anyone on ignore, it limits your perspective.
I have those that need to be on ignore already on ignore and embedded in my cranium.
It would seem to me that having peeps on ignore would cause confusion in threads, I'm not sure if you can still see their posts or not, because I've never tried the feature, so I have avoided using it because of that reason as well.
