Maher's only miss was that 59 yard attempt at the Eagles with a little over a minute left in the game. Had he made it, Cowboys still would have had to recover an onside kick and drive the length of the field for a TD with no timeouts left in under a minute with Cooper Rush at QB against the Eagles D at their place. Just wasn't going to happen, so Maher's only missed FG so far this season is very forgivable. Maher has been lights out for us this season.

Look at his kicks from his first time here vs now. Back then the ball had more movement that it does now. Kind of like a knuckle ball. I’ve wondered if Bones has adjusted where he strikes the ball creating slightly more rotation and less knuckling.

9/10 field goals the last five games. He missed one and it was for 50 yards greater. Just trying to give the guys some love. The beginning of the season did not expect this. Go Cowboys

And you just jinxed him. You don’t talk about a no hitter when it’s happening and you never talk about how well a kicker is doing. Just let it happen brother! Lol!

I use to sweat his extra points but he is drilling them right down the middle. He seems to have developed a little softer touch for the shorter kicks.

Years past I always took a restroom or kitchen break during field goals but Maher this year, has been a pleasant surprise..

Kickers are a strange lot. Can get hot and kick anything in sight. Can get cold and the yipps and can't even kick an XP.. It is more mental than physical for kickers, all have a strong leg nowadays.

He was over kicking, in other words he was trying to crush the ball and hit higher up on the fat part of the ball.

Maher has been much better the second time around with the Cowboys at least so far. Hopefully his consistency continues.

He's done well. I was nervous about Garibay. I think the players were nervous about him too. And he could sense it.
