I'm too amped to sleep yet. Figured I'd mock myself.

1. Nick Fairley, DE, Auburn, 6'4", 295. He could start right away and provide pressure immediately which opens paths to the QB. Non top motor and a great football player who will just get better.

2. Deunta Williams, FS, North Carolina, 6'2", 205. His stock has dropped over the suspension, but he is still a top notch prospect who can start right away.

3. Kristofer O'Dowd, C, USC, 6'5", 300. This guy is a mauler. He plays nasty. If he knocks his man down he will either wait to knock him down again as he tries to get up, or find someone else to knock down.

4. Mason Foster, ILB, Washington, 6'2", 245. He plays OLB in a 4-3, but he is a prototypical 3-4 ILB. He shadows the ball carrier like something was stolen from him. Solid tackler who is smart.

5. JaQuizz Rodgers, RB, Oregon State, 5'9", 190. I continue to stress that our 3rd string RB needs to be the full time return guy. Here he is. In open space, no one will catch him. Serious threat on 3rd downs too.

6. Charles Brown, CB, North Carolina, 5'10", 190. Needed depth and he has good speed. Gets to passes.

7a. Owen Marecic, FB/ILB, 6'1", 245.
A pile mover who loves football. How could I not be enamored?

7b. Cecil Shorts, WR, Mount Union, 6'0", 190. Just born to play football. Incredibly productive. Versatile. Can catch, run, throw, and return. His level of competition is not impressive. What he has done, is. From the same school as Indy's Pierre Garcon, but he is annihilating Garcon's school records.

I barely watched USC b/c their season just doesnt matter anymore but O' Dowd wasnt a mauler imo. He looked like a smooth athlete and was quick to get to his next block.

Chris??

JQ in the 5th is awesome value. But not choosing an OL on the first day would classify you as a failure by some on these boards. :D

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't we get a extra 6th for Pat McQuistan and mabey another 6th for Crayton if he makes enough catches, so that would make two 6th round picks and one 7th round pick thats subject to change???

Actually the trade for McQuistan was if Miami ended up with a worse record than us we would exchange 6th round picks. So we were never going to gain anything from him. The Crayton trade gave us a 7th round or a 6th if he hit 40 catches, although i dont think he gets those catches with floyd and jackson back as well as his injury. I could be mistaken but we wont have any extra picks as of now, the Crayton pick will just take the place of the 7th round we lost in the supplemental draft getting Price.

I wanna guard.

I think the best place to acquire a guard, provided there isn't one available who represents a good value in round 2, is through free agency.

Tackles are expensive. Guards not so much.

Please this center that Hos is referring to, may be able to play guard until the time comes that he's needed to play center.

I think they wait an draft a C next year

Brewster kid from Ohio U

Yeah I don't think C will be a priority either, unfortunately.

Good mock though.

If we sign Mankins, are we going to use the money that would have gone to Davis? (Not sure am I just repeating MBT4's question?)

I am watching Villanova right now...Ijalana is impressive. His man is getting nowhere near the QB. He is playing LT right now. He is projected as a G in the NFL. He has the atleticism, technique, intelligence, and work ethic the Cowboys need on their OL.

I want Dallas to draft him.

As far as Center goes, I want someone other than Gurode next season. I hope Costa can assert himself and win the job outright. I would still like to find someone in the draft or UDFA. I would not be upset if the 2nd Philly game marks the last game we see Gurode in a Cowboys uniform. He can take his buffalo stance elsewhere.

I would love to sign Logan Mankins and replace Bigg. Don't get me wrong, I am a Davis fan (Hook em Horns), but he is just useless now. He is big, old, and slow. He needs to be replaced by someone younger, more agile, and more athletic.

Also, once the season is over, Colombo needs to go. He has been a solid player for us, and I am happy to have had him on our OL. However, injuries and age have caught up to him. I would like to see Young and Ijalana compete for the starting RT job next season.

This leaves Kosier. He has been very good for us. I would like to keep him around as a backup, if he is willing to do so, if not, then he needs to go as well. We can have Bright, Holland, and Ijalana compete for his starting spot.

BTW, I like Free at LT, though if we can find someone who is a better candidate, then move Free to RT and let him own defenses for the next decade.

Sad thing is that Holland would make a good starting guard if the guy could ever stay healthy.

My dream is Logan Mankins in FA. He is the ONE guy in FA we NEED to get.

i must concur, though a Center with a human brain would be nice too...

Gurode is good enough; and by the way it was him getting on the officials that got them to make that call on the FG that made such a difference. Not to bad for someone you consider a moron.

Good draft Hos but I'd like to an OT in in rounds 2 or 3. Also to those talking Mankins, I saw his asking price is going to be around 10 mil a year. Doubt Jerry pays that for a guard when there certainly will be a new salary cap.

He's my 2011 pet cat. When it's all said and done, I think it'll take a top-half second rounder to get him, and I'd do it in a heartbeat.

If I had a little say in the off-season, I'd say sign Mankins, select Brandon Harris at #14 and Ijalana in the second.
