Many web sites want to send my notifications!

Whenever some web page pops up this think asking if it can send me notifications, I deny it. You can easily end up in notification hell where you get notified of every dumb little thing. When I first got my Note 9 Android, it was set to bombard with with notifications from practically every app installed. I had to go into settings and tell a bunch of apps to shut the bleep up.

Now practically every web site I go to with my PC pops something up asking if I want its notifications. I keep telling them "no". Does anyone know what happens if you accidentally say "yes." Do you end up with unwanted notifications from here to eternity or does clearing your browser's cache get rid of them?

And why do all these web sites that I only rarely visit want to send me notifications so bad?

I came across two web sites that wanted to send me your notifications as well. I declined but an regretting that now. I think other people's notifications might be more interesting than mine, especially yours, I have notification envy.

the number 1 rule of the internet

anything that you do not purposely type in and search for x out if possible, deny if not. If something pops up, is offered, or advertised that you are interested in, open a new window and search for it independently. If something is emailed to you from someone you don't know or did not sign up for, do not click on anything in it

Only do what you intend to do, don't share anything, do not use the like/dislike system, or surveys, turn off all notifications

the internet is a tool, use it how you want and for what you intend, don't let it use you and profit off of you, even if it seems harmless
