For those of you who are leary of picking McNeil in round 2 if he is available, here is a quote from the editor of Inside the Auburn Tigers in response to a question about McNeil's back:

"Marcus had back problems as a freshman and sophomore, but overcame those with a new excercise training regimen. I was told there is no reason a team shouldn't draft him. There has been misinformation put out about him in the pre-draft process such as he hardly practiced this past season, which is nonsense. "

Problem is, he wont last untill our pick in the 2nd round. He has a round 2 grade, but will be picked up early in the round because he has the size and talent to be on the line for years if his back does infact hold up. I would love to get him, but think our chances are pretty slim, was originaly my first pick, but I have moved off of him in the 1st in favor of Wimbley.

He has that problem with the narrowing of the spine thing- same thing that some players have to quit over. THAT is probably what has some teams concerned.

Hey Burm, is that the same as what Irvin had? Same thing that Terrence M. just got cut by the Packers for? If it is, thats a huge question mark.

Its the same thing- but it is not so big a deal for the really big guys like linemen. They do not do the same things that WR's and RB's and others do.
so physically its not AS much a risk. Still there is some.

And there are varying degrees of the problem as well.
