10/19/07 - The Texas Tech linebackers should receive a stern test this week as Missouri boasts two of the top tight ends in the country. Martin Rucker (44 catches, 474 yards) and Chase Coffman (34-341) are the top two receiving targets for quarterback Chase Daniel. Each has scored three touchdowns this season, while Rucker boasts a team-high average of 79 receiving yards per game.

10/19/07 - TE Martin Rucker continues to show off his versatility, lining up both wide and in the backfield. He's been used some as a rusher and is also a stout blocker at 6-6, 255 pounds. Against Oklahoma on Oct. 13, he caught six passes, but was unable to bust any big gains, settling for 35 yards. Rucker leads Missouri with 44 catches for 474 yards.

10/16/07 - TE Martin Rucker caught six passes for 35 yards in the Oct. 13 loss at Oklahoma but couldn't recover quick enough to thwart a key interception on a halfback pass that was thrown in his direction. Rucker showed off a few more blocking skills in this particular matchup, including some he threw on defensive backs when lined up wide.

One other thing to point out about Beckum is this is only his 2nd year ever playing TE. He has the moves, hands, and speed to dominate a game. The kid is going to be the next great TE IMO. I think his blocking lacks a little, but like I said he has only played TE for a little over a year now.

No offense I just enjoy watching good football players play the game. I realize we won't be drafting a TE as high as Beckum, but he's still fun to watch. Same with other big time players. I think CB is easily the biggest need for our team and I think we could use a big run stuffer regardless if Tank pans out. That way we can get Ratliff back to DE or at tackle in the nickel and dime packages where we can cause all kind of havoc.

If we can upgrade talent you can never have too many TE's.

Especially a TE that has WR skillset.

You can have too many TE's if it comes at the expense of a position of need...which TE is definitely not. Not that I wouldn't mind keeping an eye on this kid if he's as good as you think he is, but I'd be pretty irate if we took another TE on day one...and I was a huge fan of the Fasano pick. I couldn't even begin to imagine the carnage throughout cowboy fandom if this were to happen.

TE's on the current roster:

Witten - Perenial pro-bowler on his way to having BY FAR his best year.

Fasano - More than solid backup. Would probably start on over 1/2 of the rosters in the NFL.

Curtis - Project that seems to have clicked. Has the WR type skillset you spoke of.

If we get another TE, I hope he's late second day, but that's just me.

10/26/07 - TE Martin Rucker caught three passes to share team-high honors for receptions as Missouri was content to ride its running game in a 41-10 rout of Texas Tech on Oct. 20. Rucker ranks 20th nationally with 6.7 catches per game. He is averaging 70 yards off those receptions.
