Avery Johnson and Katrina
Statement just issued by Mavericks from coach Avery Johnson, who is from New Orleans. His sisters still live there.
"Obviously, the past few days have been devastating. In the wake of this hurricane, my wife and I are concerned for our family in New Orleans that we have not yet been able to contact. However, this is not just about our family. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was affected by this tragedy. At this time, I would just like to ask that we all pray for those who are suffering and, when the time comes, that we open up our hearts and our wallets to the unfortunate victims. This tragedy didn't hit Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. It hit America."
