Mavs will be moving from the AAC to 635

AAC is only 25 years old but I seem to remember a roof leak when it wasn’t that old and you figure both Mavericks & Stars will have revenue streams with new arenas .

The Stars are going to the Willow Bend Mall site in Plano it’s reported . This is where the growth , money is North of Dallas city center .

I’m actually surprised the Mavericks are building in Dallas at Valley View and not going to Frisco or even Arlington .

City of Dallas stalled on building a new city hall so it’s business as usual as the sports teams look elsewhere . At least in the Mavs case the tax revenue $ stays in Dallas but the Stars bolted for Plano they want their own building .

Dallas has money already saved for the Valley View redevelopment and the Mavs get to tap into that.
Its also over 100 acres and they are real estate moguls owning casinos and full entertainment districts.

Stars will get a similar set up in Willow Bend which is near very high-income Zip codes and is the concierge fan the Stars covet..

It's all a good way from the finish line but you can see the vision.

Dallas Mayor, the City Manager and city council have been at odds for 2 years now.
The Mayor won't even regularly attend city council meetings out of spite.

Dallas city management is filled with a bunch of idiots. Has there ever been a city to lose three major sports teams bearing the city's name?

Well the Mavericks technically will still be in Dallas , North Dallas . And the area they are going to the old Valley View Mall area once thriving now is in desperate need for development . Yes they lost the Cowboys to Arlington and now the Stars to Plano .

And last I heard City Hall too expensive to fix as a building but can’t be leveled because of the old architecture behind it . Quite the Dallas rats chasing its tail . They need Sherlock Holmes on this one .

Ahhhh, didn't know that. I never go to North Dallas - I'm in south Fort Worth, so that's too far away. I just assumed Valley View Mall was somewhere like Farmers Branch or Carrolton.

It’s right next to Farmers Branch you are correct sir , technically in Dallas city limits . It’s basically 635 ( LBJ freeway & Preston road area ) .

The city of Dallas is run by circus clowns.

btw, good luck with the traffic up north. While I haven't lived in the area for 20+ years, I'm quite sure the traffic hasn't improved and I'm sure there is still a ton of road construction happening lol

Also, all the Fort Worth fans get screwed even more. Too bad they couldn't have just moved to Arlington with the Cowboys and Rangers lol.

Does the train still run and stop at the AAC. I remember several times taking the train in just to avoid the traffic.

The area Dallas Mavs are moving to is either car or bus and good luck getting a bus after a night game .

Arlington is a TERRIBLE place to have the Cowboys. Completely boring and nondescript.

Glad the Mavs didn’t move there.

And yes…..the train still runs by AAC.
