Maybe avoid wearing same color pants as the opponent

I believe the fact that both Detroit and Dallas wore white pants contributed to the refs getting the tripping call wrong. Both teams wear the same color helmets. With the Cowboys choosing their alternate pants, white ones, it made them match Detroit's color rush white pants. That left only the jerseys being different colors. If the Cowboys had worn their regular silver pants that are usually worn with the blue jerseys, maybe the refs wouldn't have blown that call.

I realize it may not always be possible for the teams to have different colored pants. However, if they are able to do that, maybe they should, especially if the two teams wear the same color helmets. Therefore, if possible you try to have different pants colors if the Cowboys play the Lions, if the Eagles play the Jets, if the 49ers play the Saints, etc.
...
The league wouldn't even necessarily have to make it a rule. If we're playing Detroit, then we simply make it a point to not wear the same color pants as them. Other teams like the Eagles and Jets, and whoever else could do the same.
