No bath salts detected: Causeway attacker Rudy Eugene had only pot in his system, medical examiner reports

Rudy Eugene, the man who chewed off a homeless man’s face on the MacArthur Causeway and was shot to death by Miami police, had no drugs in his system other than marijuana, the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s office said Wednesday.

Sorry, not buying it. Either someone screwed up the lab reports or the medical examiner in question is a moron. Nobody strips naked, finds a homeless man, chews off his face and growls at the police under the influence of marijuana.

What about under the influence of insanity?

This is so stupid. It probably leaves your system faster than marijuana.

It's highly unlikely that someone with delusions of that magnitude would make it to 30 without a major diagnostic incident.

Never heard of pot making anybody aggressive, much less violent.

Not even in the far-reaching minds of the writers and director of "Reefer Madness" -- the classic anti-marijuana film produced by the government in 1938 to convince the public of the evils of marijuana -- would they have conceived to even dream up what this guy in FL did.

Sorry, too. Not buying the supposed results of the lab reports, either.

Bath salts probably just leave the system fast. Marijuana will stay in there for a long time because it stores in fat. It can be in your system for up to a month or even 90 days with hair. He did not do this under the influence of marijuana. It is outrageous just like that "reefer madness" film; which is basically a comedy nowadays.

30 has a point. Plus the police officer said it took multiple gunshots to get the guy down, marijuana doesn't make invincible to pain either, especially gunshots :laugh1: .

Seems plausible to me, but then I'm dumb as dirt about what stays in the body, what doesn't, and for how long, as far as what labs can test for. Just no way it seems possible the THC in marijuana was the sole drug component responsible for all that outrageously crazed behavior.

Like you said, "Reefer Madness" is now considered a comedy... laughable... much like how the reported lab results hit me.

Something ain't right.

Nowhere in the article does it say the guy did anything he did BECAUSE of marijuana. All they say is that all they found was marijuana in his system.

Some have chosen to interoperate that as some kind of accusation for some ridiculous reason.

While I am sure there are a few that will use this to further their anti-weed views, the fact of the matter is that all that's been stated here is the results of the tests. Claim you "don't buy it", is absolutely ridiculous. Like someone is pushing a pro bath-salt and anti-weed agenda in the medical labs?

It's a little difficult for it to be metabolized and/or excreted once vital functions cease. There could be a lab error and I'd strongly suspect one but psychosis with hallucinations post drug ingestion is possible including paranoid behavior. Complete dissociation can also lead to bizarre behaviors but that is more likely a symptom of a personality disorder like Borderline or dissociative identity disorder possibly associated with recent drug use esp peyote, LSD, PCP, meth, and mixtures.

I could definitely see it stemming from something like PCP. Some sort of dissociative.

It wouldn't be from PCP intoxication since they didn't find the drug. But you can exhibit bizarre, paranoid, and psychotic behaviors after a drug has cleared and you are no longer technically under the influence.
