Maybe its me, but i miss the old school MOnday Night

I remember when being on Monday Night Football was a bragging right... you know, so-and-so team has 4 Monday night games this year. It was a sign of distinction that you were good and popular enough to play on Monday Night.

Let's get ready for some football.

Now there is the CrazyCowboy we know and love. Welcome back, we knew you'd take back your hijacked keyboard soon enough.

Speaking of things we miss...I miss the Pink opening to NBC's Sunday Night Football. Faith Hill didn't have anything on her and I doubt whoever they choose this year will either.

I've always had a thing for Pink. She looks like she could beat me up. I like that in a girl.

Money!!! Man i wacthed that old Raiders/ Seattle game the other night and i was amazed. Those old ABC Monday night football openings were the best.

Also ABC just focused on football. ESPN is trying to shove Kornheisher down our throats and these interviews with people who have no affliation to the game.

I just want football. I miss Frank Gifford, Pat Summerall, all of these old school announcers who just called the game.

You tube has some classic NFL openings from NBC, CBS, and ABC.

I miss those days as well.

Exactly.

Isn't it funny how ESPN insists that they have to appeal to a broader audience by bringing in the celebs and having Kornheiser act like he's never seen a game before and all the other nonsense, yet we've probably never talked to anyone who likes the "new" MNF? I know I've never met anyone who likes it.

I know... instead of being a bragging point, I now find myself disappointed when a good match up shows up on MNF.

My guess is that they'll revive the old style MNF at some point with matchups that are considered premier instead of just throwing any two teams on their.

It just feels like a waste of time to even have Monday Night. I never thought i would say that i'm glad Dallas doesn't have that many monday night games (i think we have 1 right?)

I remember i use to love begging my dad to let me stay up so i can see the cowboys. I use to do every trick in the book, not that mattered since my dad knew i was gonna watch it, and didn't care (cowboy fans for ya :p) Now im almost sad to see them on Monday Night. The Only good thing about monday nights is that those stupid Texans can't blackout my boys.

No doubt. Sunday night with Madden and Michaels (and minus the stupid sitcom promos and Kornheiser) is the new Monday night. I won't even pay much attention to Monday night anymore, unless of course we're playing.

Where we had the loud country boy rocking

and we had the helmets of the two teams clashing into each other. I use to love watching that happen. why Must ESPN take away all that is good in sports today?

WHY?!?!??:bang2::(

Man. So do I. I'd be looking forward to it from the moment the game ended on Monday night til the next Monday. Excited, I tell ya. Now, it's just a game. No excitement to it. Announcers suck, bringing people in the booth for an interview instead of showing the game. Oh look...........it's Rocky.

Aside from the fact they used to actually show premier matchups on MNF, I think the introduction helped highlight the fact it was more than a game, it was an event.
