Cowboys placed P Matt McBriar on injured reserve ending his season.

With a slew of injuries in the past few weeks, the Cowboys couldn't afford to hold a roster spot for their pro bowl punter. Sam Paulescu was signed to take McBriar's place.

8 weeks with no weight on his foot will cause his leg muscles to atrophy so even if he could come back for a playoff push, he wouldn't be a full strength so this was a smart move.

I hear this new punter we got is pretty good. He may be no McBriar, but you know the old saying..."You're only as good as your backups".

He kicked-off once in a 2007 preseason game for the Cowboys. It was after a delay of game penalty against him, he kicked it to the six yard line.

PENALTY on DAL-2-S.Paulescu, Delay of Game, 5 yards, enforced at DAL 30 - No Play. 2-S.Paulescu kicks 69 yards from DAL 25 to DEN 6. 86-B.Clark to DEN 32 for 26 yards (40-C.Brown). Return right side of the field.
