He's not getting fired because we are going to win the division and at least one play off game. Coaches that do that keep their jobs despite what the ridiculous media says.

MM should be on the hot seat. The Cowboys have a young and talented roster.

I disagree with this actually for a few reasons. When I think of the top choices for the "hot seat", I think of coaches who will likely be getting the sack during the season. Jerry has only done that once, and that was during some really awful luck and possible sabotage by Garrett. So, unless we have a really unlucky start to the season, I don't think he gets the sack during the season. I think the coaches who are more likely to get binned are Matt Rhule of the Panthers, if they should struggle despite a likely improved QB Room, Kliff Kingsbury of the Cardinals if they collapse like an inflatable decoration as usual, Pete Carroll when the Seahawks realise they should have binned him during the offseason, and Kevin Stephanski if the Browns struggle to sort of scapegoat him. Probably somewhere after that, Rivera and McCarthy will be the next ones in line. I'd also say Lovie Smith of the Texans might get binned too.

MM and Payton are the same coach, the difference being Payton is a better game manager.

And...
Disciplinarian who tutored under Parcells
Playcaller who wouldn't keep Moore
Will select a staff with a proven DC

Won't take 4th and 19 risks in inside his own 30
And won't attempt to do Gallagher
Won't attempt to do Austin Powers

Most importantly, WONT take the job if not given majority rule over all football team related matters. So it's prolly a moot point anyway.

But yeah, like a few others here, other than that they're the same cuz they have the same w/l record, lol.

The only question is IF he would sell his soul for a last retirement check like McCheese did when he accepted the job. I don't think he would.. But money makes people do weird things.

I mean yea there are some differences but both have taken different routes through out their career and ended up with only 1 SB win with HOF Qb's at their disposal. I like Payton a lot but to think he would have a different result with this team than MM, I'm not so sure about that.

Not only that, I don't think the difference is worth conceding a minimum of one first round pick. Especially since our FO relies so heavily on those.

Yep, he would have zero impact if hired under all the same current circumstances surrounding McCarthy.
IF Jerry maintains his Garrett Part II project in Moore and Jerry is the team accountability manager and disciplinarian and not the HC, nothing would change.

The question boils down to whether Payton would sell out his integrity to cash Jerry checks to be his next yes man like McCarthy did.

That's really the only question to me.
