McCarthy needs to prove his worth in the gameplan this week

I know this is Moore’s offense but it’s become very apparent the blueprint is out on how to slow this offense. Tampa did it in week 1, colts (for 3/4 of the game), Houston, and Washington all ran a similar defense that gives them fits. I fully expect Bowles to go with a similar gameplan as week 1 which is play a press cover 2 zone because nobody is scared of our WR outside of Lamb. It's more than likely we will struggle to the run the ball since that is Tampa's strength.

With MM being touted as an offensive minded HC, he needs to sit down with Kellen and give him the gameplan this week. If MM can't help dig this offense out of a month long rut with some creativity, then im not sure what value he brings and they might as well move on. Our best play of late is the old Witten play where we throw it 5 yards to Schultz who turns around leans forward.

I haven't seen Big Mike put his stamp on the offense since he has been here. He in his advancing age has turned into a delegator. Is what it is.

The problem with the Cowboys is MM acts like he isn't involved in the offense, ....and KM is too much involved in the offense. Too late to do anything different with this team. Roll the freaking dice.

Folks are underestimating the impact T Steele had on our run game (he was our best lineman according to our Oline players)…the game plan would have been so much easier with him available…just pound the ball and use play action to take all the pressure off of Dak.

Absolutely great post. Appreciate it. This is exactly what he needs to do as the HEAD COACH of this football team. He seems to get a free pass by everyone because of this supposed do not touch Kellen's offense scenario of Coach Jerry's.
Well, it's about time McCarthy earned his head coaching title and actually contributed to a game plan for once since being hired.
Such a spineless fraud yes man to this point whose team is "coached" by the coordinators.
Do something. Anything, that shows you are a difference maker in an offensive gameplan.
Or anything besides saying your team was nervous and stating you had no input to the offense in your one failed playoff attempt last year.
Do not repeat last year. You were hired to win post season games. Not regular season ones. Your predecessor accomplished that much.
And for the clueless Blame Kellen masses, you might wanna consider why McCarthy was hired in the first place before spewing all the bull****.
Make no mistake.
Mike McCarthy is ultimately responsible for all of this.
That's the HEAD COACH'S job.
And he should be held accountable.

Expect to be disappointed. We have a spectator for a head coach. He provides us no advantages on Sunday and I question his work ethic honestly.

Ditto, but I still had to vent the truth.

I really thought putting Tyron over there would be alright. Him and The President side by side sounds much better than it's working out in real life however.

We've got to accept that neither player is what they once were. Tyron isn't a road grader and has lost his elite movement for pass pro. Zack is good for 4-6 games of being pretty dominant. Other games he's solid but not a difference maker (at least not as run blocker). There is a reason we can't convert short yardage the last few years. We aren't moving people like you could once count on those guys to do.

Mike McCarthy should take over for some of the play calling on MNF against Tampa. If he has to go down then it might as well be on his terms.

I actually believe one of the things that needs to happen this off-season is a complete overhaul of the Cowboys offense. It STILL looks like a Jason Garrett offense predicated on way too many “beat the man in front of you” matchups and way too few creatively schemed plays. And yeah, I know it has statistically been high performing but it hasn’t yet translated into big wins in big moments.

Too many times in the last several years we have heard opposing defensive players and coaches say this offense is easy to prepare for and identify what’s coming. Watching our receivers run high school level curls and slants as opposed to schemed crossing routes from creative formations is just maddening.

If somehow Big Mac is back next year, I’m hoping we have a new OC who has implemented a more modern scheme than the Garrett Vanilla Ice Cream offense we’ve had for far too long.

I completely agree with this. I know last weeks game may have been very vanilla from a playcall perspective but too many times over the years have we seen defenses act like they were running the routes with our receivers. Tampa, Houston, and Washington games come to mind.
