McCarthy vs Tomlin

Many of our fellow Dallas Cowboys fans still have a negative lingering affect from the embarrassment at the hands of those GB Packers. Maybe not as much after watching the 49ers escaping a similar embarrassment by those cheeseheads. The Packers are a better team than we all believed. Also, if we are honest, this Cowboys team struggles all season trying to run the ball and stop the run. This issue continues to plague this franchise. In the playoffs, it is even a bigger issue. The Cowboys of the 70s, had Staubach, Pearson and Dorsett. They could run the ball and the defense with Randy White/Ed Jones/Bruenig could stop the run. Flash forward to the 90s with Aikman/Emmitt/Irvin that could run the ball and a defense with Maryland/Lett/Haley/Norton, jr could stop the run. This current team continues to struggle and going into the Packer game, Dallas fans ignore this issue because we are so thirsty from the drought and buying into the FOOLS GOLD again.

But let's look at the topic I posted. Tomlin vs McCarthy. Yes, I am a Cowboys fan that wants to start over NOW because cap hell is either now or next season. So why wait next season? Outrage to fire McCarthy is loud by Dallas fans and the media laughs that it was not done. But is the media attacking the Steelers? Why isn't the media and Steelers fans screaming the same way to fire their coach?

Both coaches have been a NFL HC for 17 years. Tomlin has 4 more wins than MM. Tomlins winning $ is 63.3% vs MM 's 62.0%
Tomlin has a 8-10 playoff record vs MM's 10-8
Tomlin won his ONLY SB in his 2nd season with the Steelers (2008) and lost a SB vs GB in 2010 vs McCarthy in AT&T Stadium
Tomlin has lost his last 4 playoffs appearance with a one and done vs MM's 1-3
Tomlin's last playoff win was in 2016

Granted, Tomlin has never had a losing season in Pittsburgh, he has not won a SB in 15 season and BOTH coaches has not been to a SB since they met each other

But is no screaming or mocking of the Steelers keeping Tomlin by their fans or the media.

Lots of Steelers fans are done with Tomlin. I know some personally, and "Fire Tomlin" on Twitter gets plenty of hits.

A poll I’m sure would reveal that 80% or better would rather have Tomlin. The division and conference they are in especially as good as Baltimore has been, is really tough. When you look at the Steelers, don’t they seem like physical and tough teams? How bout Dallas?

OK, but nothing near the level of emotions as McCarthy

Mike is here to stay like it or not. Let's focus on getting the players we need to get us over the hump.
Also the Cowboy's like it or not are America's Team with that comes the criticism, the microscope, the hype and you name it, as far as the Steelers, well they are still just the Steelers and won't ever make headlines like the Cowboys good or bad. IMO

I went on the Steelers fan forum recently and most of the fan base want Tomlin gone. The post game comments by Najee Harris says a lot.

Since Ben started regressing the Steelers have not had a QB, let alone one the Cowboys have been paying $40 big ones for, and are about to pay $60 bigger ones for. The Steelers have also not had the team on paper the Cowboys have over the last several years, in particular a hall of fame offensive line and standout WR's...give him this Dallas team he could also have had 3 12 win seasons in a row

Ahhh-- Big Ben also had the Bus--Jerome Bettis, which got to SB. And the Cowboys had ALL-PRO Guards and still could not run the ball. 49ers /Packers/Ravens can run and stop the run. None of these teams put all their dependence on their QB's arm. Even the 70's/90's Cowboys ran the ball and stopped the run.

Cap goes up every year and most teams are in the same shape. Thats why you have these contracts that are front end and rear end loaded.. extensions and every which way but loose. We have a person that refuses to give the help a team needs.
