I really don't find him in the wrong. Maybe he should have used his hands/feet or found a better weapon, but they assaulted him and crossed the counter. I've worked as a cashier before and when there is a counter between you that's one thing, but when that line is crossed the time for talking is over...man or woman. You never know what kind of crazy people are out there. Bottom line, I want to go home at the end of the night.

I did a little bit more searching around so I thought I would provide some links.

On Dec. 3rd, the employee was cleared of all charges after spending 7 weeks in jail: LINK

The woman that got the fractured skull also had a criminal record for stealing from a former employer while she was a cashier: LINK

The two women were indicted by the grand jury for felony burglary, while the cook was cleared:LINK

Too bad he spent any time in jail. They came over the counter, they deserved the beat down. All he was doing was making sure they stayed down. LOL

Haha yeah. Overall I side with the McDonalds guy, but he didn't have to beat them so much. Oh well, they learned their lesson.

dude didn't need to hit them again while the were on the ground but i believe he is totally justified in his actions. it is kinda scary working behind a counter no matter where you work. i worked the graveyard shift at 7-11 alone and i have had death threats by *******s because i wouldn't sell them beer after the legal time or give them a hotdog that was too old. one time a guy asked for a pack of cigarettes then all the money in the register just a serious as he could be, i just stopped trying to decide if he was for real or not but i went cold from the thought that i could be getting robbed, he smiled and said he was joking and i wanted to deck him so bad.

bottom line is that the counter is a clear physical boundary for the customer and if that boundary is crossed it can only be considered an act of aggression

Dude, didn't you ever watch any scary movies? It's always when you stop beating them and think it's over...they get back up! :D

I wouldn't have blamed you for coldclocking the guy that was "joking".

Once dummy went over the counter she was fair game, and well deserved the beat down.
General LeMay agrees..beat them so hard others won't want to fight you.

He was cleared of all charges.

...given some of the commentary I have read on the youtube site you would have thought people wanted the guy to do a Hannibal Lechter on the two women.

Their injuries weren't enough for some they wanted even more???

When they cross the line you don't quit swinging until they quit wigglin.

The dude did what he felt he needed to do to protect himself and his co-workers.

If they had laid down and stopped moving I don't think he would have hit them again.

You don't let someone like that back on their feet once you have them down like that.

I really don't have too much sympathy for the women in the clip. A skull fracture without a major intracranial hemorrhage may not be all that bad of an injury in the grand scheme of things. Ditto for a fractured arm.

I don't know as Brad found out in Fast Times at Ridgemont High while working at All American Burger the customer is always right.

I side with the cook. How was he supposed to know the situation?

He saw two angry customers jump the counter and become violent. As far he knew, they were armed.

Quite frankly, the women are fortunate he didn't kill them.
