Donovan McNabb was wearing a protective boot on his left ankle as a precaution, and was one of several Commanders to sit out Monday's practice following the team's 23-3 loss to the Ravens on Saturday, NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora reports.
The Washington Post reported that McNabb attended practice but did not wear pads or take part in the practice session open to the media, wearing what appeared to be an air cast on his foot.
Coach Mike Shanahan said he wasn't sure when McNabb will resume practice or whether the quarterback will play against the Jets.
"We'll just get as much treatment as we can and get him as ready as quick as we can," Shanahan said.
McNabb, who was only expected to play the first half on Saturday, emerged from the locker room after halftime with a large wrap around his lower left leg and ankle.
"It's not bad, just a little sore, but things like that happen in a heated game like we played," McNabb said Saturday.
