So I have a vintage steel tanker desk I want to have media blasted and powder coated. Anyone on here familiar with this process? Have any tips or know how much this would be?

I got an estimate for a glass top instead of putting on new lenoleum for $50.

I'm going for something like this (different color of course):

I'm familiar with the process a bit, but have no idea how much it would cost. The critical aspect if finding someone with an oven the right size for the main part of the desk.

Basically they're going to strip the paint down to bare steel, spray the coating which is electrically charged to adhere to the metal, and bake it in either a big old electric oven or one that is has a gas flame source with multiple blower vents in the oven.

The drawers all need to be able to come out, and the handles are going to be removed. Anything that isn't metal needs to come off of it.

There are some pretty dang cool sets of colors and finishes available in powder coating.

EDIT: If the desk was built prior to '78 or '79, then the paint on it is lead based and there might be an extra charge for environmental fees to strip that paint.
