just saw on espn that merriman said he will stop doing his little stupid sack dance. i think he's stopping the dance to draw less attention because with no more juice, his numbers will drop. figured all the merriman fans on this board would want to know

Good point, dagokingin999....

I saw the game last night but was out at a restaurant, so I couldn't hear the audio. Did they say anything about Merriman losing weight to get quicker this year? You know that's coming... :)

I looked around the web and all I could find was his old weight of 272 listed. But there's no way in the world he's still 272.

He did look thinner the other night. Probably lost 30 lbs and will tell everyone he's trimming down to gain speed. ;)

You know it's coming and I bet the commentators will just spit it out like truth. Forget the fact he had nearly 20 sacks at his old weight, he's wants to be "quicker". Bah. Just wait for it.

5. Merriman focusing on making plays, not dancing
As long as he can stay healthy, Shawne Merriman should have a 20-sack season. Even though his weight is the same at 270 pounds, Merriman looks leaner in the middle of his body from hard work during the offseason. He's on a mission this year and is talented enough to be considered for Defensive Player of the Year every season. Until further notice, he's going to stop his "Lights Out" celebrations after sacks and concentrate on making plays and winning games. It will help that Shaun Phillips has developed as a pass-rushing threat on the other side. Phillips has to draw some blocking attention to free up Merriman at times. The only changes on defense are that Matt Wilhelm and Stephen Cooper are now the starting inside linebackers. Gone is Donnie Edwards, who had a lot of mobility and playmaking ability. Defensive coordinator Ted Cottrell isn't going to hold back Merriman from rushing the passer. He's one of the best in the game.

Well.... we really know what stopped that dance.... it was the loss to the Pats and then the subsequent rant from LT.

Anyway.... glad there wont be anymore Ware vs. Merriman threads.

Must have been tough to get so lean.

Maybe he's just stopping because it could be called as taunting under the new rules.

The sentence that precedes that of course, says that his weight is still the same (or around it).

Which doesn't make sense. If he really is leaner, he has to have lost weight. It's just not physically possible any other way. It's not like he had fat to rid himself of, or was able to build enormous amounts of muscle in his midsection while trimming it. If he's leaner, he weighs less. Unless it's not at all a significant amount.

Meh, frankly I doubt that. They probably asked him if he weighed the same and he answered yes.

And besides, if his waist is smaller and he still does weigh the same, that would imply that he's lost fat and gained even more muscle. And I seriously doubt that's the case minus his special "supplements".

Yeah it is puzzling....

Guys on steroids always look like they have fat in the body. See there shape and it looks like big muscles coated with shaped fat??

Can it be that he has bigger, leaner muscles and that the muscles obviously weigh more than the fat and that is why he is close to the same weight? or maybe just a legal weight gainer supplement.

Anyway.... I cant wait for Todd Light to pancake him, AGAIN!!!:lmao:
