Mets' Santana throws no-hitter, first ever in team history

I am a huge Mets fan, shed some tears last night and it felt good!

I've been a Mets fan since around 1973 and was all too aware of that strange stat. When you consider all the ex-Mets who've thrown no-nos (Ryan, Seaver, Cone, Scott, Gooden among others), it was about freakin' time.

the scene of The fan who crashed the party is absolutely awesome. Hysterical

A little off topic, but Met fans, how is Mike Pelfrey doing? His mom worked with my wife for a few years and I got to meet him. In fact we bought our Sheltie puppy from her a few years ago. It was easy to follow Mike's progress as a BB player because his high school is only 2 miles from our house and his college is only 3 miles from our house. I'm not any kind of baseball fan and haven't been to many games but Mike was the best pitcher I ever saw.

Mike has the skills to be a really good pitcher, but lacks the mental toughness IMO. He is usually good for 10 wins and 10 losses, give or take. He is an inning's eater though, which is good on the bullpen.

He can go out there and dominate for a few innings, but usually has that one big inning go against him. He can also go and get creamed in the first couple of inning's.

He started out pretty well this year, but got hurt and is now out for the season. It is a shame because he did look like a different pitcher in the early going.

Thanks for the reply. He was dominant in high school and college. It was almost a joke trying to watch the other team hit him.
