• "Miami does not have a running game. Who knows if Ronnie Brown will be there, and Ricky Williams is getting old."
this was from a very decent draft publication, so with no super great rbs in this draft, decent ones but no ronnie brown, or tony dorsett or adrian peterson. Now how valuable is Barber in a trade?

Given his contract and that he's been playing hurt more often than not recently, maybe a 4th.

I agree....4th or lower would be what we would probably get for Barber.

That or a combo of maybe a later draft pick but a swap of draft positions in the 3rd or 4th.

If we do trade with miami I would not be shocked at a multiple player trade. It has happened before and I think they might have interest in spears. I think the patriots might have interest in spears and I would not put it past bill to take spears as not only a need for his team but as a bonus to keep him away from the pats.

So...maybe a combination of players to get a better draft pick or picks/swaps.

Who knows...probably all speculation at this point and even if there is a plan to have a trade in place at this moment...anything can happen during the draft that might change it. Might depend if a certain player(s) are on the board when one of the teams intends to draft that determines if a trade happens or not.

I am thinking this,as reports had sam hurd, spears, carpenter, proctor for right price. We all know that parcells loves proctor due to his dad playing for him, and also dont forget parcells and sparano loved McQuistan. Maybe you can package a deal to dolphins, involving Barber, McQuistan, Proctor and Carpenter maybe for say moving up to their 12th pick, a 4th or 5th and 7th pick. Carpenter has a little value since he did better in coverage blitz package.

Or say, dolphins do trade ronnie brown, and get a 2nd, we trade barber, mcquistan, and proctor, maybe for that 2nd or 3rd and a 7th.

Just guessing here.

Just a thought.

Trade the 27th pick, Barber, and Spears to Miami for the 12th pick. That would remove Barber's salary from the mix and and allow us to draft a better player.

Though, giving up Spears would make me want to draft someone like Odrick, but at the 12th pick, that might be overpaying a bit for him. Of course, jumping up that high, would open the door for a lot of other players too. Jason Pierre-Paul, Maurkice Pouncey, Mike Iupati, Anthony Davis, possibly even Bryan Bulaga (maybe not) or Dan Williams.

i love your enthusiasm bro, but the logical breakdown here not so much.

brown and ricky williams are eerily similar backs to barber. bigger, older, good production, on the downside of their careers.

does barber hold more value to them than any other team? i doubt it quite seriously.

as you wrote the note came from a draft publication and affects what YOUNG and cheap player they may target.

I could realistically see Parcells giving up a 5th, possibly a fourth for Barber. They could really use Barber's leadership and attitude on that team...Don't know if he'd be too interested in the other scrubs we're trying to unload though
