This is only 4th year of 5 year Rookie contract.

His payday which will set all records for a non QB will come next year.

Probably be in the 40 mil + category. Probably have to release some to afford. Like Lawrence.

Micah: “We’ll see. I just gotta keep doing what I’m doing. Keep working. Keep trying to be the best player I can be. And try to win championships. And they’ll probably throw me a little something on the side.”

Out of the 11 guys drafted before him, 4 have already re-signed with their teams (could be 5 soon with Chase) and 3 are already on new teams. Only 3 are status quo

Micah is lots of things, but dumb isn't one of them. He will ball out in the Zimmer D and be paid $$$$$$ as a result of it

He's definitely immature, but definitely isn't dumb. And his talent...oh man, he's gonna get paid if he keeps playing in the later half of the season like he did game one. If he disappears down the road, it might affect things a little, but not that much.

Relax. We've already drafted well next year.

He would be stupid to sign right now.

He will sign a top-of-market deal next August or so, just like every player in the league of his calibre.

While he will get more money by waiting, he also risks serious injury which can impact his future value. You would think that there would be a happy medium to be found between a team that wants him and a player that seems to want to stay. Some guys bet on themselves and others decide to take the money sooner with the understanding that contracts can be amended later via holdouts, trips to Cabo, etc.
