How are his shoulder pads even close to legal. I saw the game it looks like he took a set of shoulder pads and cut off the outer pad that goes over the shoulder socket and upper arm.

He’s always wore small shoulder pads for some reason. Bugged me too, but if he keeps playing well he can wear whatever he wants.

Might be QB pads? I know some players wear them, or used to wear them. But they were usually WRs.

Back in the 80's shoulder pads were HUGE. If I were playing, I would prefer those because you could hit guys harder and not get hurt. I don't get the teenie tiny pads concept.

It's all about the look. Players gotta look cool.

Got to love all the **** on him gets quietly swept under the rug with him.

Lied about Vegas and that incident involving that elderly lady at the SB.
No PCP suspension for him...
How do you know he lied about the old lady?

You’d think that if that had happened there would be evidence and it would have been addressed sooner.

Lied about the cops. Forgot to punctuate that sentence properly. But don't want to get too deep into that topic due to rules.

Great player, but him and his brother are weird.

Less area for the o-line to grab and hold you with, and also better arm movement. "There's holding on every play" remember.

Negative. They are a kicker's shoulder pads. Like another poster said, less for an OL to grab onto and better flexibility for swim moves, etc.

Players didn't mind back then. Some guys don't wear knee pads or thigh pads anymore. If I were the coach I would say you don't wear these pads you don't play. Guys get hurt trying to look cool.

Theres also less area to hit with. Plus make it easy for the OL to hold you. 10 yard penalties are drive killers.
