Considering how dumb she seems, I don't think it's a long shot that she'll be broke in no time and back on the dole anyway...

Clayton downplayed her wealth, saying she took the $1 million in a lump sump, which meant about half immediately went to taxes. "I feel that it's OK because I mean, I have no income and I have bills to pay," she said. "I have two houses."

"Public assistance should be given to those who are in need of public assistance, not those who have found riches," Zorn told Local 4. The bill, which has already passed the state House and has a sister bill in the Senate, would require the state to cross check the names of lottery winners over $1,000 to see if they are also receiving state financial benefits.

This country is appraoching joke staus with how many people get on, and stay on, the dole.
It seems like half the population is scamming the government...but the gov doesn't mind too much because it locks in votes and forces dependence.

Modern day "elective" slavery.

$1,000 one time winning can be the difference between losing out on hundreds in monthly assistance?

Might as well just reject the winnings.

No way should someone get assistance after wining an amount like 1M but to start taking it away from people who may need it because they won $1,000 is a little overboard.

You should at least have to win the equivalent amount of assistance. Or here's a thought, reduce the annual assistance by the amount won if it exceeds $1,000.

I think a person owning 2 homes has no right to get assistance. Help yourself before asking others to help you out
