Mickey's latest. Pretty much says what many on here been saying. The lack of playoff success for almost the past 3 decades. Good regular season, make the playoffs...then fail...

Also discusses the gap between Dallas and Philly. Making it what it is, not as big as many want to make it out to be. Or that was my take on it.

Everyone's starting the season 0-0. I believe the Cowboys will be very good and a tough team to beat. Go Cowboys
I agree. But good luck convincing some on here of that. :lmao:

Back to back 12-5 season, and getting a playoff win. Not a lot of changes overall as to the team roster and coaching staff. Actually got better on paper.
so a lot to look forward to.

Good on ya for giving insight to the article. I don't wanna read 7 paragraphs just to find out he's really saying something that could be said with a tweet.

Talking Philly, Imo.. the only thing that makes Philly an above average team is Hurts. No, he’s not some prolific passer..yet, Hurts is very good at play action. He’s a treat to run and hard to bring down. That, coupled with a top tier OL & running game makes his job simplistic.

This leaves defenses guessing near every down. Philly’s offense was consistent enough to leave Hurts manageable down and distances, which he exploited many times for first downs. Give them credit, it’s a recipe that frustrated defenses and kept opposing offenses on the bench.

That said, it’s only a matter of time til the clock will run out. Hurts will be injured. I’m not wishing that upon him, but it’s a statistical fact.

Getting a push up the middle and stopping the run regardless of who’s running is paramount. Thats how you stop Philthy.

Dallas has emphasized the DL this off-season, so I tend to believe they recognize this. Our offense, on the other hand, is to be determined. I’m not a Dak hater, yet his Stardom has diminished in my eyes. He’ll have a top 3 defense and a new voice in his ear for the first time in his career. And despite what some think, he’ll have enough offensive play makers to get the job done. This year, more than ever, will prove whether he can propel this team to the finish line. Hoping for the best.

Only our beloved team can convince us......not fans that don't play the game

Having said that , the acquisitions of Gilmore, Mazi, and Cooks gives us that much more hope

Lol, it is amazing that some cry like babies when the team is very good. This is the best teams that they have had in many years and we here a long line of negative crap here

This place is not very representative. You have trolls from other teams and other fourms here who poison the well.

Throw in mob mentality and a ADHD aversion to second order thinking and you get what you get.

If Hurts gets injured, Philly is toast. Dallas can go 5 games without Dak. Philly can't do it without Hurts.

You are absolutely correct. The fan base in general is about 60 percent positive this year.

A lot can change in three decades, and a lot has. I don't hold the mistakes of 10, 20 or 30 years ago against the current group.

This team is the most well rounded group we've seen since 1995. It may not be perfect, but the drafting and roster building has come a long way.

By nature I always trend towards optimism this time of year. This year I am very optimistic based on my perception of the reality and not just by nature.

Philly will take a step back this season. They will be good but it's going to be tough for them to duplicate last season's success. I look forward to the Cowboys putting a couple nails in their coffin.

IMO, the margins between the better football teams are small. Pundits and media types like to hype up the winner of these close contests and downgrade the loser, just because hyperbole sells.

One of Dallas' big problems for decades now is just . . . sloppiness. We all know it. A stupid penalty or turnover and bonehead play call blowing a game or two making the difference between winning and losing. As I have said before, I think if Dallas calls a run play against Jacksonville instead of the bomb and stops GB on 4th down, they go to the super bowl last year. TWO PLAYS.

For Dallas to succeed next year, they really should be going for the 1 seed. That's going to require season long discipline and no giveaway games.

They want the current team to pay for the last 27 years of failures. We've turned the roster many times over, yet it's "same old Cowboys" around here.

I'm hoping that both Prescott and Parsons are ready to see happens on both sides of the ball!

The P&P of it all! :starspin:

Dallas is a contender, and has the potential to be a better team than last year.
That might not translate into a better regular season record though, given their schedule.

The NFC East has improved. Those division wins will be harder to come by.

Need that first round bye. Need homefield advantage.

Looking forward to seeing what should be an even better defense. Disappointed in their lack of emphasis on bolstering the OL and getting a beefy RB but maybe this west coast tweak they're adding will help Dak,,, something had to change to avoid the annual choke so I'm glad there's at least an effort. Philly isn't even that great, they're just smarter in the front office for investing in their lines and having a pass-light game plan with a QB that doesn't spit the bit.
