Microsoft signs exclusive deal with Marvel for Xbox 360 titles.

July 14, 2005 - Microsoft announced today that it had signed an exclusive deal with Marvel Entertainment to develop and publish massively multiplayer online games featuring Marvel's characters. The upcoming games will be developed and published for Microsoft's upcoming Xbox 360 gaming console.
Tim Rothwell, worldwide president of the Consumer Media Group at Marvel Enterprises, in a statement to the Reuters press agency, underscored the exclusivity of the deal by stating that the agreement with Microsoft represented the "one and only" for Marvel in the realm of MMO gaming.
In the same Retuers report, Microsoft's Peter Moore stated that "online gaming is reaching a point of acceptance. We will use as many of the Marvel characters as we can."
No further information on which heroes would be featured in the games was provided and it appears that we will have to wait a while longer to live out our web-slinging fantasies as Microsoft did not offer a release date in its official announcement, though Reuters does suggest a 2008 release.
