Dak Prescott had a field day in Week 2, completing 81.7% of passes en route to a 30–10 blowout win over the Jets.

In the victory, Prescott repeatedly found success against the Jets secondary by heavily targeting CeeDee Lamb, who finished with 11 receptions for 143 yards.

On Tuesday, the NFL shared a video clip from Inside the NFL cameras which caught a post-game exchange between Prescott and Jets star cornerback Sauce Gardner. At first, Sauce asked Prescott why he didn't challenge him more during the course of the game.

“Why didn’t you throw the corner at me today?,” asked Gardner.

“I didn’t need to,” responded Prescott. “Damn! I mean if I need to, I will. I didn’t have to. Why challenge the best player on the team?"

Old news

I just see a Top 5 QB and a Top 5 corner giving each other their dues. Sauce admitting on the spot he was thinking 6 before even catching the ball.
Just like 4's receivers are thinking 6 before ball is in hands.
It happens.

For the life of me I don't know what Dak was looking at, I was screaming don't do it when I saw him look that way, then of all things he double clutches it and throws it anyway.
TBH, so easy for us to see.
So hard for them in the moment and that's why they get paid ungodly money and we grind it out here for free.

A little different from your vantage point and his. When he threw it Lamb was open for a second there. He didn't like what it looked like the first time and still decided to let it go. I personally didn't see the benefits of throwing it there.

That’s the greatest thing about attending the game. You see things real-time, or even before. My wife dun’t understand and I stopped trying to ‘splain it to her.

Wonder if there's a clip where CD is saying to dak why did you try to get me killed on that play? Still can't believe he hung on to that ball.

I have always encouraged anybody who questions what QBs see or don't see to go stand in the middle of oncoming traffic, pick out a car to hit with the ball going in the other direction. That will give you an idea of what it's like to play NFL QB. They all make bad reads, miss throws and have brain farts from time to time. The key is not to do it a lot. Dak doesn't, which is why he's a good QB. With McCarthy in his ear this may be the year he becomes a great QB.

My running theory after looking at the play, Dak wanted Tolbert on the Slant but Tolbert gave up on the route (UGH) and then he panicked and went to his 2nd read.

On the QB School breakdown he goes over how this was a terrible play call into the defense the Jets were running and what Dak was doing.
When he first pumps, its actually do the slant behind CeeDee's flat route. But that's covered so he pulls it and goes to the flat.

(according to the QB School ((and the video)) If Dak wanted CeeDee in the flat on that play he needed to fire it right away for a minimal gain. If not he needed to wait for the checkdown in the middle of the field.

Either way, bullet dodged.

While I *ALMOST* always agree with you...I can;t here.

It's easy to say us schlubs can see the play from the overhead cameras, sure. Monday morn QBs, right?

But these guys have worked and trained every single minute of their lives.....coached and tutored by the very best with either pedigree or hard work or both.

Of course they will never be perfect...no human is. But this isn't us schlubs out there tossing balls at passing cars after some beers.

Wolrd class athletes trained for this. If they make a mistake...fine. But lame excuses? NOPE>
