Mike Jenkins is terrible

Now admittedly I didn't get to see the whole game, cause of my flag football games, but when I left it was 21-7 and the only corner who had been burned badly was Anthony Henry. You know, the vet CB, making good money.

Yeah a rookie first game starting going up against Tori Holt, great way to basically call him a bust.....He was a first round pick not a top 10 lottery pick.....

Did you see the receiver(Avery?) down the side line WIDE open for a sure 92 yard TD? He had that side. He went inside. No reason to go inside. We were lucky to not get another 6 scored on us!

Yep, let's cut him. It's perfectly normal to only give a rookie 7 games to prove himself.

Holy overreaction batman!
SERIOUSLY. PEOPLE!!!! We can complain aobut people WITHOUT wanting them cut. We can complain about the TEAM without losing our fan-dom. We can say fire Wade without being ca..... ok, fire Wade.

but come on. Let's not overreact here. This is a forum. The original poster NEVER said to cut him. Said he was a rookie. Said he sucked. Reply on what was said and move on .... or move on.

WOW. Actually, there was NO WOW today. Even from the first W (Witten)

WOW that was a fast three years.

Rookie starting his first game, he gets a pass CB might be one of the hardest positions to come inn and play as a rookie
i missed the gamebut i totally agree with you

cb is a position in which players struggle at mostly in their first yr especially when they havent had significant time like jenkins

one who comes to mind being i live in new york is revis of the jets

he struggled badly in his few games as a jet and was picked on often. as the season went on he got nothing but better and flashed potential of being a shut down corner. he has had a very solid second yr so far for the jets and finished last yr strong as well.

this position takes time, so im not gonna completely bash jenkins

Did you watch the game?????..please explain why he sucks????..I can use a laugh right now???

The problem isn't Jenkins, in my estimation (though that one play where he left Avery wide open is a little concerning), but is instead the scheme.

This soft zone coverage in the secondary is a terrible scheme. It has been all year.

If we get Newman and/or Pac-Man back, there's absolutely no reason to not be playing hard man to man coverage. Even with them out, Henry is a big boy with a big boy paycheck and Jenkins is a first round pick also with a nice big paycheck-are you really trying to tell me that they're such giant busts they're incapable of bumping at the line and playing man coverage?

Obviously, I was being a little facetious. Do you read these forums? The next logical step for many people on these forums is to say cut him. I was just playing on that...I thought it was obvious. On a serious note, to say he sucks is a bit overboard. There, I responded to what was said. Are you still going to issue me a citation, forum policeman?

Did u see what he did?He left a wr completely go.Thats unreal.

What's unreal is some of the posts around here. And you're wrong. He didn't release him. He went way inside and lost him. He's a rookie playing in his first big game against one of the best WRs this game has ever seen and some other very good WRs getting the ball from a pretty good QB.

He's a rookie. If you paid attention you'd understand that as well as possibly reading other's posts about him likely getting burned some today and needing good safety backup which isn't available apparently.

PBJTime;2354358 said:
Mental error...that's something that can be fixed. He was looking for an inside route. It's not uncommon for a rookie to get lost at this level, 1st round pick or not.

Correct. It's amazing how the same facts are interpreted so differently.

Yeah we were lucky he didn't catch that. Too bad they caught some of the other ones.

I wouldn't argue with you but it should be painfully apparent to all the others why Wade is making them play less aggressively. Notice you take out two starting quality CBs then combine that with less than stellar safety play, rookie CBs replacing the starters and you have the recipe for a Cowboy roast.

Jenkins coverage on most plays was actually pretty good, especially in the second half. He's going to be a good player in time.

Okay, so before the game you were saying that we would be screwed with him starting. Now you are saying he is horrible. Why didn't you just man up and say you didn't like the pick to begin with? It's obvious you have an agenda.

And FWIW, I think he did pretty good today, all except for one play.

Although Newman had a great year in 2003, he game up many plays the next year. He turned out alright.

Who? Wait, didn't we used to have a guy named Newman that played corner? It was so long ago I forget.

he ll be fine

He probably will be ok,but so far he sucks bad.I will say this tho he is a man to man corner not zone,so wade should let players play too their strengths like he said he would.lol.

Cutting Bobby Carpenter would have a bigger impact. :D
