Mike Mayock doing Notre Dame-Purdue game

I like Mike Mayock better as a draft analyis than mel kiper or todd mcshay. I didn't know Mayock called games though.

I am still not a fan of the spread but they did OK. Crist has to do better but for the first time in three years ND appears to have a D. Oh and they got a guard that makes Bigg at his biggest look slender. This one has got to have the biggest butt in football. Fairly nimble- but it was hilarious watching him pull and such; you could not miss him no matter how big the pile. Early signs are good; next weeks game with Michigan should say a lot about both teams.

Well I am not going to get excited about 1 game which ND didn't look THAT great in and proclaim that they are back. Kelly is a good coach but I am going to need more than 1 game game to say he is going to turn them around. People said that about Weis and other coaches at ND after a few games. This is what makes me laugh about ND fans. They get something new every 4 years and think everything will be good again and there will be no problems. Then they win 1 game and all of sudden they are back. Let's wait and see.BrAinPaiNt;3534076 said:

When ESPN leaves him alone, Chris Spielman is an easy top 5 I've ever heard, right up there with early Madden and Brad Sham. Of course, ESPN has to ruin everything and it's more about style over substance. But when he's doing the D game he's usually about as good as it gets and while I thought Mayock was very good, he usually is far better.

In the 2007 preseason the Bears played the Colts and despite throwing 2 picks and having 2 fumbles, Jaws continued to claim that Rex Grossman was gong to be a great QB. You're not good at talking about what you know if you can't reasonably be critical of it as well.

I've heard Mayock do a couple of bowl games on the NFL network. One of the things that I liked is he used his expertise as a draft analyst to evaluate the player's NFL draft prospects. As someone who likes to watch the college game to scout prospects, I enjoyed getting that perspective.
