Kind of lost in the shuffle, but he took advantage of some terrible Feely kickoffs and set our offense up with good field position every drive.

He's seems to have taken on where Tyson Thompson has left off, perhaps we are just blocking really well.

Yeah its more or less our blocking. He never made any moves or had any good cutbacks. All he did is run to where there was daylight.

The only thing Thompson brought to the table on returns was speed. If we didnt give him a huge lane to run through, he wasnt going to do much. Not much has changed. We could put anyone back as a returner with decent speed and have success. Our return blocking is very good.

All Miles did was beeline towards the sideline on every return. It was hilarious. The chat room was like, "there he goes towards the sidelines again..."

Austin did break a few tackles to gain extra yards on his way to the sideline...this is MILES (heh) better than Skyler Green or Abram Elam back there.

Uh, so if our return blocking is so great why couldn't Green do anything?

Because he didn't follow the blocking lanes.

He took what they gave him and a little more. He definitely deserves a round of golf claps.:clap2:

It was so hard to see anything he did with the angle FOX provided. That skycam bs needs to go.

I'm starting to think that the KRs are very similar because of the scheme. It seems to get the returners outside to get to the 30 or so, but dies b/c there is no middle opening. On TD returns there is usually a significant chunk arouond the middle. Guess we are just looking to get a high average and eliminate bad returns. This does seem to prevent the big play though.

I couldn't help but wonder what we could've done with a better returner. Honestly, the lanes Miles had to run through were big.

He is a really nice player. I feel good things are in his future. He is light years ahead of S.Green

He's looking good so far, not much of a drop off if any from TT.

It's a nice thing to see.

I wonder how good his hands are.

Pretty good hands I think. Parcells says he is going to be a very good receiver, raved about him.

Hope I don't start a statistical riot but:
Austin >>>>>>>>> Thompson at kick returning.

I believe that Austin is being coached to return to the sideline. His frame is so small that I believe he'd fumble if he got clobbered on a return up the middle. It always makes me nervous when I watch young, slim guys return kicks...
