Anyone seen notices about when the first one will be? I assume this week. Be nice to have some press conferences to feed our football starved souls.

I'm sure you missed it with the way threads are dropping off pages. A rookie minicamp is going to be held this weekend. Rooks arrive on Thursday. Practice on Fri-Sat. Sun. meetings...

The Cowboys rookie minicamp is just four days away, and it is to include draft picks, undrafted free-agent signees, and also "first-year players", guys who aren't rookies, but don't accrued NFL season. There are 25 guys in for this weekend, at this point.

I wonder if any vets will show up. I know it's for rookies, but would be nice to see some vets get out there to help them learn the system.

Did I read that Zach will attend the camp?

I don't think they can practice. They might show up and watch but league rules keep them from practicing.

Grazi Bella.

Sure hope we get some good coverage of upcoming minicamp. It will have to suffice until mid June when whole team attends minicamp.

Will all our rookies be there? Isn't there some "must have graduated" or something requirement?

This weekend's camp is the one they can attend before their college semester ends.

Unless they go to Ohio State.

We don't have any Buckeyes that this would apply to this year do we?
No sir. Very few Buckeyes left this year. I expect them and Georgia to be the pre-season talks of who is best in college football.

OSU/GA for the national championship in the ? bowl. Wonder how that game would turn out?

I wish they would let Stanback join in. I'd like to see him get as much work as possible. But he's not a rookie.

There are a few 1st year players participating, but he's not one of them...

Rookie minicamp begins Friday
The Cowboys rookie minicamp starts Friday and ends Sunday. The workouts will include the Cowboys six draft picks, undrafted free agents and seven first-year players.

The players will workout twice on Friday and Saturday and will have weightlifting and meetings on Sunday.

Several of the undrafted free agents carry interesting storylines. Hamption DE Marcus Dixon served 15 months in jail for aggravated child molestation and statutory rape. Can Texas Tech WR Danny Amendola (left) become a Wes Welker clone? Midwestern State Daniel Polk is switching from quarterback to wideout. Maryland RB Keon Lattimore's big brother is Ravens LB Ray Lewis. And Oklahoma State FB Julius Crosslin will be there to provide a recap of coach Mike Gundy's ''I'm a man. I' 40.'' post-game rant last season.

How do players still in school handle professors who won't excuse the absence?

Most of these players probably ready to graduate later in May although a few might need take their final exams. Besides they only miss Thursday & Friday classes; assume there's a mechanism to make them up if needed.
