Below you will see 2013-2024, starting QB, top three WR's, TE, and RB.
It is my observation that this year, the Boys have the lowest talent of explosive, impact offensive skilled position players, the worst set of running backs, the worst set of WR talent.
We see rarely explosive RB plays that carry a team, runs for 25+ yards; other than Lamb, wide receivers are not getting open, causing Dak to look bad, because other than Lamb, the other WR's performances are terrible, not getting open. If you look below, recall Cole Beasely who produced big big time as a 3rd receiver, with short area quickness to get open almost at will. Since Michael Gallup's decline due to a serious knee injury which robbed him of his explosive big play ability, no one else has stepped up to be a solid, explosive 2nd receiver. Additionally, we have had no reliable 3rd WR to do what Beasely did for six seasons. The talent is sorely missing at WR, which makes Dak look bad. Finally, a declined Zeke, no Pollard, no explosive RB drafted has created the lowest talent level of RB's since 1976, a full 48 years. This is very obvious and very depressing. I feel the team is going through a repeat of the 1980's with older declining management acumen overseeing a low level of offensive talent.
2013 Romo, Dez, Myles Austin, 3rd WR Beasely, TE Witten, RB D. Murray over 1000 yards
2014. Romo, Dez, Terrance Williams. 3rd WR Beasely, TE Witten, D. Murray-1856 yards
2015 Romo, Dez, Terrance Williams. 3rd WR Beasely, TE Witten, D McFadden 1089 yards
2016 DAK, DEZ, Terrance Williams. 3rd WR Beasely, TE Witten, Zeke 1631 yards
2017 DAK Terrance Williams. 3rd WR Beasely, TE Witten, Zeke 983 yards in 10 games
2018 DAK. Amari Cooper, Gallup, 3rd WR Beasely, TE Swaim, Zeke 1434 yards
2019 DAK. Amari Cooper, Gallup, 3rd WR R. Cobb, TE Witten Zeke 1357 yards
2020 DAK-Dalton, Amari Cooper, Gallup, 3rd WR Lamb, TE Schultz, Zeke 979 yards
2021 DAK, Cooper, Lamb, 3rd WR Gallup/Cedrick Wilson, TE Schultz, Zeke 1002 yards
2022 DAK, Lamb, Gallup, 3rd WR Noah Brown, TE Schultz, Zeke 876 yards
2023 DAK, Lamb, Gallup, 3rd WR B. Cooks, TE Ferguson, RB Pollard 1005 yards
2024 DAK, Lamb, Tolbert, 3rd WR Turpin,(Brooks injured) TE Ferguson, RB Dowdle and nothing
If the University of Miami WR Xavier Restrepo would be on this team, we would be improved dramatically. This kid is NFL polished and would be an upgrade over a Cole Beasely type. This year, he has broken the UM WR records all-time. This year: 51 catches in 9 games, 856 YDS, 9 TD's, 16.6 yards per catch. Super, elite change of direction ability. Since he is 5'10, 198 and will now wow anyone with 40 yard speed, he will not go in the 1st round. Just watch his tape, he is super fast first 10 yards, he is explosive, can turn on a dime. Just what Dak needs. Super solid behavior, with great parents, he is South Florida bred, tough as nails in 12 months' humidity. He also returns punts.
Also get a top explosive RB in 1st round and Dak will be resurrected next year. The impact of that top RB plus Restrepo in 2nd round would ignite this lowly-talented Cowboy offense.
