Yes some will question is he all that mobile or fast anymore.

One paragraph was saying how most of the remeianng schedule, they play opposing QB's that are somewhat mobile and can wreck a game. As they ae saying can Dak do that as well.

I actually do not think there are but 5 games at the most with a QB that can do that to us. And a few may be questionable at that if we stop other parts of their offense.

Stafford - no
Hurts - yes
Jones / Taylor yes, but we do well against them
Young - is he a runner, I am not sure, so I say no
Howell - looks like he can be at times, but they look so bad on offense at times
Smith - is he really a threat
Hurts - y
Allen - yes
Tua - same a s young
Goff - I don't think he is a running QB either
Howell - already answered

AND REMEMBER ..... this is about Dak and his running, not passing, not overall QB abilities ......

We all know it's helpful to this offense, why they're holding him back we don't know. We don't even run the bootlegs anymore, it's STRAIGHT SLANT SLANT SLANTS. We went from curls curls curls to slant slant slants!!

Dak has to pick and choose when he decides to run. A planned bootleg or RPO run used to be ok. Dak's not as durable as he once was and I cringe when he decides to run and goes head first instead of sliding.

There is always the risk of injury but Dak running more is good for the team. Turning what would have been a 3rd and 10 into a 3rd and 5 or converting on a 3rd and 5 when no one was open can be huge

The Cowboys have an issue on offense at almost every position. Our current QB isn't going to do anything to remedy that.

Part of me thinks this is the teams mindset as well.

But…

If Dak can’t extend plays then I don’t understand the point of him as our QB. I really don’t.
I agree and Im not sure if its him or the coaching staff holding him back. But hey maybe hes pissed again. it takes a week to kick in . Next time he needs to get mad 2 weeks before we play a contender lol.

What’s the worst thing that can happen, here? Comes Cooper Rush. It’s not like we’re winning the Super Bowl this season anyways. Look, you play like it’s your last game. And what happens happens. You don’t go looking to hurt yourself. But you can’t play tentatively either. Go cowboys.

I have no problem with them telling Dak to run more.

When Dak doesn't see anything open he serves no purpose and is just waiting to get sacked. 1st read not open, check 2nd quickly, if nothing there start running, i would even consider telling him to run after the 1st read.

Nice post the problem is Dak isn’t mobile he’s a opportunity runner, he’s a slow plodder. Run Dak a lot and he will get damaged, MM must be desperate to suggest Dak run more. Get a running back to take punishment not your 40 million dollar QB. If Dak is running the season is lost.

the blocking has to get better regardless of who is toting the rock. A few read options strategically planned wont hurt our QB that much if at all. Plus in the current offense the advantages that dak has over Rush are negated so it dont think the season would be lost.

Although i dont want to lose dak

They are pretty successful with the bootlegs so yeah I don’t understand why they do not use them more often, or why they stopped.
